More teachers need to be like Miss Desjardin, she actually cares about her students. She doesn't see them as her job.

Before, she didn't. She even said she knew what it was like to be one of the girls in Chris' clique.

You just proved her point not yours...you contradicted your self there, her saying she new ht it was like to be one of those girls, which is exactly why she understands and makes her a good teacher..
@Shanethefilmmaker
@Shanethefilmmaker 8 жыл бұрын
Always Sydney Dude, that didn't prove her point. She was implying she used to do the same thing the girls that did that to Carrie to other people. That she used to be the bully and before she realized how serious Carrie's situation is, she sympathized more with the clique than she did with Carrie. Her helping Carrie from then on, was her redeeming herself for doing the same shit to someone else. Something she wouldn't have bat an eye on if she wasn't a teacher.

I wish there was a happy ending version where Chris and Billy get caught before the prank, Carrie gets to have a nice night, when Tommy and Sue bring her home and Margaret tries to hurt Carrie but she's stopped and taken to a psychiatric ward where she can get the help she needs, and then Ms. Desjardin decides to foster Carrie like a big sister or mother figure. (Honestly, this is starting to sound like Matilda) I just wish that they got a happy ending.

0:58, that quote I relate with so well. When your bullied in High School, it's very hard to trust people later on in life. It affects your life. You can learn to trust again and allow people in, but it takes time and patience. I feel for Carrie so much in this scene because I can relate with her and I'm sure others can too. *If you were bullied in High School, I may not know you, but I care about you.*

My first thought on that final scene (aside from the how unfitting the heavy metal music that started up as the picture faded to black was) either she's REALLY pissed, or she regenerated into another teenage actress a la Doctor Who (if that last one is the case, maybe get Elle Fanning from Super 8 to play the part in the next one). Still, a sequel might not be such a good idea. Remember what happened when the 1976 version got a sequel? Not a pretty outcome (though it might have predicted Breaking Bad at the very end).

Did anyone see What Women Want? Movie with Mel Gibson. Judy Greer was in that. She played the socially awkward office girl. Who was lonely and almost suicidal but his character was able to find and comfort her near the end. She even cried a bit and it was so cute to see. Now she’s the one offering comfort to lonely helpless girl. It would be really interesting if the two movies were connected.

This one seems tragic...and that's the whole point of the movie. Not to make Carrie a scary, unemotional, having a seizure teen horror like the 76 version is...this one was meant to be tragic and to Really make you sympathize with Carrie as opposed to viewing her as a girl with scary powers. That's what I love about this one; it leaves the traditional scary horror genre and take you on an emotional roller coaster ride.
