For those of you commenting on her breathing and how different her nose looks here and in "The Last Jedi" (compared to how smaller it was just a year and a half earlier in "The Force Awakens") - both are from the effects of a deviated nasal septum. Likely brought on from cocaine use in the latter few years of her life. Her daughter, Billie, was very candid after she passed away about her mother's drug use being a constant battle up to the very end. Stevie Nicks' nose also changed drastically after a decade of cocaine use, as well as comedian Artie Lange. Labored breathing (as well as other respiratory complications) is a common side effect. Nobody's perfect. We all have our vices and temptations. Carrie should be commended for being an advocate for people with drug addiction and mental illness, as well as being open and honest about her own struggles. So many other celebrities (who struggle with addiction) tend to mask it from the public and put on a veneer of perfection for visual/print media. Thank God for people like Carrie who used her celebrity to open up a dialog about addiction and didn't give a f**k what anyone thought about it!

Everyone is talking about her being mentally ill and her drug use because they can hear her breathing “heavily” when it’s literally just bad placement of the microphone. Even her voice sounded muffled from it. If you watch her closely, you can tell she isn’t breathing heavily, she’s taking normal breathes. Rest In Peace Carrie ❤️

I came back here to comment after watching Bright Lights. Carrie only noticeably starts breathing like that when she is nervous in the car on the way to the SAG awards. Also she says she is having a manic episode before that as well. I think she is just nervous in a lot of these interviews and is using her breath to calm herself down.

I did her makeup with a few years back I can verify and say with 100% certainty that she breathes hard. I don't know if it's a result of damage to her nasal cavity from years of Coke or what, but yes, she does have a very hard wheezing sound from her own nose.

I know it's too late now - but listening to Carrie Fisher's very laboured breathing and almost completely blocked sinus passage - someone, anybody - should have got her to the nearest ENT (ear, nose and throat) specialist asap for diagnosis. Maybe they would have discovered her underlying heart problem and prevented her untimely death. Very sad. I wish people were less polite and more blunt sometimes especially when you can tell there might be a problem, but politeness stops you from helping.
@annajacob79813 жыл бұрын
@David Ahmed I agree. American culture's political correctness leaves little room for direct, meaningful conversation. Everyone's so busy minding their own business and being "p. c." that it affects our humanity. If someone in Carrie's family or circle of close friends had expressed the concerns you mention and tried to gently intervene, Carrie might still be alive today. And Debbie too. Perhaps someone did, and Carrie chose to ignore the advice. We'll probably never know. RIP Ms. Fisher and Ms. Reynolds. 💕

She died on pills with cocaine and heroin in her system. She'd been doing cocaine for one drug example since at least 1979. Almost 40 years. It is no shock her heart, among other areas, had issues.

She has some health issues. She's constantly on Medication. She's an ex-drug addict who is also bipolar and going through something else. She spoke about it on Oprah when she and her Mom appeared on the show. Carrie looks sooo much better now and seems to be doing better.
@nathanliteroy98358 жыл бұрын
Ok, can we not attribute just a simple case of runny nose to all that? She sounds just fine in another interviews she has given last week. But no, it must be all those consequences of cocaine she has snorted in the 80s and her bipolar medicine. Definately not a cold. Also some Carrie FIsher trivia after Oprah show - she underwent a course of ECT because medication couldn't help manage bipolar disorder properly. Now she's fine and has said that doesn't need medication anymore
