I'm going to play this song on my wedding someday for my mom. My dad abandoned me when I was small and my mom brought me up and did a lot of things for me which I can't explain :) shes both my mom and dad and I really appreciate all the things she has done for me. Love you mom!!

I love her relationship with her mother because thats where good values begin, where they are instilled in us. Im not for sure about her daddy but I know she is full of love because of her faith in God. He has blessed her with a beautiful voice. Her goal abilities are so wide and strong that you can here her from a far or in another country for she reaches out to you with open arms and embraces life as God intended. What I love about this song is she never exploits her hubby but doesn't leave him out in such a wonderful song as she explains to her mum never worry because My husband is good. She knows their love doesn't falter and she leaves it in the hands of God. I love listening to her, she never ceases to amaze me and if she writes any of her music her soul is pure. If she doesn't, still is, she is one of the good ones in our country, in this crazy world and her love will never surpass anybody without an wonderful impact

I wish my Mom could've met mine. She did meet him, but cancer had spread to her brain and she wasn't all there. She and I were fighting about her being able to drive or work with me the whole time he was over. She had a heart attack and passed that night. At least my last words were "I know you think I'm taking your keys to be mean but its because I love you too much to let you get behind the wheel of a 2 ton death machine." It was one of the few times I told her I loved her. She was my best friend and I was so lost when I lost her. We called each other multiple times a day. We ran our business together. We did everything together. She helped me raise my son. I'm still a little lost and I feel a big hole now that I'm expecting my second.

Thank you Carrie and the song writers for a beautiful song, I danced this song with my mom for the mother daughter dance at my wedding in April. My mom is in her 70s and has advance dementia and survived not getting Covid during the pandemic. It was such a special moment, it meant so much to share with her and I’ll always cherish it. Many of my wedding guests told me they had tears during our dance. This song was so heartfelt and was so personal for the relationship her and I have. I was searching for a special song for our dance and when I came across this song, it brought tears to my eyes. A beautiful endearing song. Thank you for singing it in your amazing voice. Deeply grateful 🥲

Hi there Carrie, Well let me start by saying I love ALL your music, always have. I'm originally from New York and everyone's always surprised I have such a passion for country music. I say that's where the real talent is, in country music. So I have a few favorites of yours, like "See You Again", "Jesus Take the Wheel", and a big favorite would be "Mama's Song". Those 3 really hit home for me. Let me explain why. Well my mom first got a very rare aggressive cancer when I was in 7th grade. After 5 years of battling it (my senior year of high school) she just couldn't fight it anymore and passed away November 21st, 2010- 5 days after her 53rd birthday. (I first saw your video for “Mama’s Song” around the time of my Mom’s last days, very touching song for me) My mom was the strongest person I know, I wish I got to have more time with her, but I know she's in a better place. I always miss my mom, but I find myself a lot more lately really needing/wanting her around. After I graduated high school, with the help of my siblings and teachers, I up and moved out here to Idaho. I have a sister whose lived here 7 years now, and my dad who moved after my Mom's passing. I moved out here December of 2012, so it's been a little over a year. I needed to get away, and have a fresh start. I've accomplished so much since the move. It's pretty hard not having my mom around to share and tell her all about my experiences. But fairly soon here (196 days to be exact) I will get to have another mother figure in my life, a mother in law, who I get along with so well. Yup, I'll be getting married. I met the man of my dreams, a couple weeks after I moved here. We were both playing on the same church league volleyball team, and let's just say we hit it off from there. All the words and things said in "Mama's Song" fit him in so many ways, that it's crazy to me. At first I was having a hard time just picking 1 song to have when I walk down the aisle with my dad (I had a lot in mind) but as soon as I played that one, I burst into tears. I just knew it was the right one. A song that has to do with a lady finding the man of her dreams and her mama being there for her to go through it all and knowing that he will take care of her daughter. That day will be hard on me, not having my Mom there. But when I listen to this song, I feel like it would let my mom know, that I got a good guy and he will always take care of me. I want my mom to know that. I love the thought of her smiling down at us on that day, every day. I originally wanted a live band for when I walk down the aisle, but then I really want "Mama's Song" to be the one. I have a really big question/favor for you, or anyone who reads this.... Having you there to sing that song as I take my steps to my future as I walk down that aisle would just mean the world to me! :) In my opinion you have a voice of an angel. I admire you, your songs, and the way you put so much into it. I have yet to see you in concert (haven't come around my towns yet) so what better way to have a first performance of someone than on your wedding day, something to be remembered and cherished forever. I know you are a very busy lady, with lots going on, but if there was a chance that you could come on over to Jerome, Idaho and sing that song as I'm walking down the aisle, that would be so very much appreciated, I can't think of any words great enough to show my appreciation. Well if you get a chance to read this(WHICH I REALLY HOPE YOU DO)a reply would be nice, I'd love to have you sing at my wedding if able to!!! ~Love, an all time fan of yours, Hayley Lighthart Oh and P.S. - My wedding date is July 26th, 2014! :) Are you free on that date??? ;)

I love this song so much!! Every time I listen to it I start to cry thinking about how in about a year I'm going to be off in college. Once I move that will be the longest time I'll go without being around my mom and I'm not ready for it at all. My mom is my whole world, my rock, my best friend and so many more things. I plan on doing a mother-daughter dance at my wedding one day and will most likely do this song. She has done so much for me and I couldn't be more grateful. I love you mom!!

Not every person in the world looks after meaning in a song. Some like the genre alone, some like the voices, some like the music. e.t.c. The world is a big place. No one can impress everyone in everything. If they could,he or she would be perfect. Such conclusion is unnecessary and just disrespectful. Do people dislike "Baby" because they hate teenage love? Do people dislike "Far Away" from Nickleback because they hate distant and lost relationships? Do people hate "Circle of life" because NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNTTTTSSSS INGONMMMENNYAA BAGITSHI BABAA? You get the point.

+Simsgirl Gem (simsgirlgem) I know how you feel. I lost my mom at 18 and when I got married, it was outdoors at the beginning of June in Texas. The wind wasn't blowing until we said our vows and then a small breeze came passing through. When I felt that I knew my mom was giving us her blessing. She will be there with you in some way like my mom was with me. It will be hard on the big day, it was for me. I did small things in my wedding that made me feel like my mom was part of it like a single pink rose in my bouquet. I wish you the best of luck when you meet the one. You'll know she's there when everything falls together like a puzzle without thinking about it.
