Probably the most massive closet clean out I've ever done on my channel (and in my life)...as my body continues to fluctuate in size, and because I moved to LA and my closet / clothing storage is absolutely PITIFUL, I figured I'd take you to all of the spots I have #midsize , size 14 clothes scattered all over my apartment and do a massive closet purge... I cleaned out my closet once every 6 months and this last time I got rid of almost everything. My drawers were completely empty. It felt so good, I got in that mood to just get rid of everything!! I donated all to a nonprofit that gives the clothing to survivors of domestic abuse (: I later got a photo of women wearing my clothing holding up a thank you card

My brother does something similar with his kids, 1 toy in, 2 toys out. He got the idea from one of his friend's dad, but he had a 1 toy in, 4 toys out rule.

I just thrifted three tops a turtleneck and two bulky knits. A gold mine hit for me as I've been looking for these particular pieces (visioned in my head, of course) for a long time. I'm going through my tops and pulling worn out ones to make room.

You should fold your clothes with the Marie Kondo method. It is a huge space saver, helps you see what you have and is really satisfying. It works really wells for t shirts and pants, not so much for bulky items.

Could you do a vid explaining your mental health in LA? I’ve watched almost all your content since you moved and it truly seems like living in LA has maybe lowered your confidence a bit and made you very focused on your weight, especially when you shop. Do you feel that living in that area has been “worse” for your body image? Would moving help? Or do you feel it’s a struggle that follows you everywhere, and so it doesn’t matter if you work on it in LA or anywhere else? I know you have touched on this a few times but would be interested to see a video fully dedicated to it, if you’re open to sharing of course! Keep on bein cute!

I’ve come to the conclusion that you and I have the same exact fashion sense...... but if I had the money. And places to go to show off the clothes. And the balls to wear certain pieces. The problem is I turned 30 in May and for some stupid reason got it stuck in my head that I’m getting too old to wear certain things or that other people will think I’m getting too old to pull it off. I hate it so much. By watching your videos I get inspired to just be me and really try to get out of my comfort zone and buy and try pieces I think are awesome. Thanks for that Carrie 💗🖤💗

I’m only 21 and ask my husband daily if it’s socially acceptable to dress like a teenager (mind you I look like I’m 12 because I’m 5ft tall). And so far the general consensus is wear whatever you want and what makes you happy! Love and well wishes 🖤

My husband and I live in a 2 bedroom house we share with my brother in law. Husband and I share a tiny closet and a dresser and that’s all the room we have for clothes 😭 but it’s actually so freeing because you have to be pretty selective and you’re aware of everything you buy. Ashley Duty they are definitely steep, but they’re super good quality and if you rip your leggings or anything you can take them into a lulu store and they will mend them for you. I’ve had one pair for five years.

Thank you for being so vulnerable and open about all the feelings related to getting rid of clothes! I know I need to cut back on what I buy (thrifted or not) and always feel guilty when I'm getting rid of barely-worn clothes, but also it's good to get rid of them and pass them along to someone else who needs them! I got rid of 2/3 of my stuff (including clothes due to body changes) last spring and it still feels like I have to ditch more as my body changes

I attach way too many memories to pieces of clothing/items and it makes it SO hard to get rid of things because I see it and I think "oh I wore this/got this when etc." But then most of the time it gets put back into my closet until the next clean out 😒😂 I'm getting better and better, every time I get rid of a little more!

Isabelle B-D have you ever thought about taking pictures of the clothes you keep for sentimental reason put the in a journal and write about them. Then you can get rid of the clothes but keep the memories

I'm not sure if it would fit or not, but if it was me I would swap the two dresser locations. The living room has more drawers, therefore more stuff, and might make it easier to keep more clothes in one place. Limited storage is tough, but you are def doing the best with that you've got! Maybe a tall, thin IKEA unit for sock/undies/shape wear/winter hats/bathing suit type items would help as well. Love these videos Carrie!

You still have about 6x the clothes I have . I guess thrifting for a living makes it hard to keep clothes at a manageable level. I have never had a lot of clothes. My parents discouraged it. My marriage and subsequent children made it difficult, and now when i could get what I want for the most part, I can't seem to find much that I actually like. I get such a kick out of people cleaning out their closets on you tube. Even with everything in one place I imagine it would take a lot of thought to choose what to wear each day. I admire your persistence in selling on poshmark. I would tend to want to immediately get the extra stuff out of sight so i would just donate it.

If you ever feel like you need to do a massive cleanup again (or if anyone in the comments does!) going through each section can still leave you with a lot because when you get to the next area you forget what you have elsewhere. When you gather up ALL of your clothes into one spot at the beginning you are forced to confront just how much you have.

So a little storytime😂 When I was younger I grew up with 4 older sisters, so I got a ton of hand me downs and I couldn’t say no to them because I didn’t want to make them feel bad. So by the time I was in 9th grade I had an insane amount of clothes the majority of which I wasn’t wearing. So I decided enough was enlightened and I purged everything and got rid of 6 trash bags of clothes. Ever since then I purge my closet at least two times a year getting rid of 1-2 bags at a time. I am also a person who loves to be super organized and I don’t have a ton of items that are sentimental so I tend to purge my whole room frequently. People come to me when they need help cleaning their room because I am like that. I am ruthless now.
