Been up that road a lot of times. It looks wide in the video, but it's not in real life. Besides, there are lots of curves. Keep searching for "Carrilanas Esteiro," and you will see how you can cause a domino-effect crash. Plenty of those, since they started back in the 80's. They make improvements every year, but they can't practice much, and not on that road, since it's an active road, except one day a year in the summer--the day of the Grand Prix. That's why I think he was overly cautious.
