If you are open to suggestions, I want to point you at 'Lair of the Clockwork God', Two best mates; one, Ben, is a traditional point and click adventure protagonist, while the other, Dan, is a platformer protagonist, so , the game is a mix of the two genres, with Dan often literally carrying Ben over to objects that need examining/using, as Platformers don't handle nerdy, thinking-related problems like that, and Ben refuses to run, jump or do anything active.
