Glad you picked up my replay! The stormcallers were totally going to be a backup unit to my stang/marks, but then I got the subsidized storms and saw my opponents going scorpions, tarantulas, and marks. Then once I saw how much damage they were doing I just invested in them. I was also surprised how many victory points I was getting despite my econ! also for my fellow 40k enjoyers: FORTIFY

Rogal dorn is renowned for his defensive prowess. And is also the moat xenophobic, an actual accomplishment in 40K. Then Pertarabo (his acquaintances call him peter turbo) is the primarch on the iron warriors, renowned for his offensive seige warfare (and is second only to dorn in defensive seige), plus his use of massive numbers of machines of war. He's also the most horrible person to be around, also an actual accomplishment in 40K, but he has an excuse due to literally staring into hell every day against his will. Anyway, Iron Within, Iron Without.

Dorn is known for Defense, Imperial Fist Primarch. Perterabo is known for siege, but also excellent at defense, Iron Warriors Primarch. Peter Turbo is a boss.

I've always found stormcallers to be frustrating to go against. I feel like I either have to invest heavily in air or specifically mustangs with antimissiles to handle them. You can also take a surprise round or two with the antimissile turrets but it's expensive so make sure you're going to win that one. Like I will get 2 sets of wasps and the antimissile turret in the same round and win super hard that round just to tilt them, then move the wasps into flanks and do some more chaff next round to deal with whatever they decided to put in the way of where they thought the wasps were.

Okay so... You were looking for the siege specialist primarch or the fortification specialist one ? because you have on one side, Perturabo and on the other side Rogal Dorn.

high-explosive ammo is a worthless tech. the only unit that can use it is a mustang since they gain a full 7m from 0 all other units gain and effective +5m +/- .5 while already having a 5m area. it would feel good but each block is a 10m wide area so you can be the judge if the lose of 40% damage is ever worth.

Because of how maths works 7^2×3.14 = 49×3.14 = 148ish meters area 10^2×3.14 - 5^2×3.14 = 314 - 75.26 = 238.74 meters increase. Thats Assuming the increase is to the radius, if it's to the diameter then you half the squared numbers and the plus 5 to the 5 is still way more coverage than the plus 7. The decreased damage is usually not worth because you want the other units to be dealing maximum damage to bigger targets, whilst clearing chaff a bit better is something you'd do by investing in tech on your chaff clear units, like mustangs or arclights.
