The way their feet match the tempo of the drums makes my heart flutter with joy and happiness. I am Choctaw, Filipino, and Black American. I've always wanted to participate.

The love of my life left me to join with the Great Spirit. We are all given four gifts when we are born Our life is the time to fill in the rest of the Circle. She fulfilled her task I was lucky enough to have known her love, her heart and her soul. We watched this on the evening before. I knew a love never felt by me before. Dearest friend, Great Spirit Che megwetch for the chance to love her.

beautiful dancing. however, the MC is sucking the medicine out of dancing. many people dance to heal. I understand competition can be fun, and the MC is trying to be funny, but when you call women "losers" is it really that funny of a joke? overall beautiful dancing and none of the dancers let him break their spirit.

Can someone kindly enlighten me? I see there are at least a couple of dancers who are dancing without shawls, or appear to be holding their shawls in their hands or on their arms rather than draped across their shoulders. The footwork appears to be similar, but their attire is very different (the "shawls" actually look more like small bandanas). I danced at powwows for nearly twenty years, and have never seen this. Is it a new style/variation of women's Fancy?

Just to follow up, I did some more research and was able to answer my own question. Apparently this is Old Style Fancy Shawl, which has been around for a long time but I never saw this category at any southern powwows, only contemporary. I really like it, though.
