By far the best pack system. Love these packs. Packed out many animals through the last 4 years

Just heard you on the Jay Scott Podcast! Great stuff... never really looked into KUIU until now, but man I'm floored! I'm a Coues hunter here in Southern Arizona and this looks like my ideal sized pack... very cool and nice load up too! When I get my hands on one, I'll throw a video up on my channel too:) Joe

Question, when you load meat in the pack, Is there something you need to consider in terms of scent and not emoting meat scent to bear or coyote? I mean you pack the meat, take it back to camp, then do you hang the pack from a tree like you would a bear can?

Hey Dallas I was just wondering what trousers and jacket type you using on that days hunt
@kuiuultralight6 жыл бұрын
Hi Thomas--Dallas isn't at KUIU anymore, but looking at his outfit, he's wearing Attack Pants and a Peloton 200 Hoodie--I'm not sure what he's wearing as a base layer under the Peloton 200, but I'd guess a Peloton 130 Short Sleeve Tee.

Thanks for the new vid. Still confused as to how the "sling" works. Looks like there is just a couple straps now. You don't add a strap across the middle under the load to keep it from sliding down? And there is no longer a strap to stabilize the load directly to the frame? Sorry, but from what I can see this pack is a step backwards from the previous 1850. Could we get a video showing the differences and what makes this new version better? I decided to buy this pack instead of one with a shelf off the frame because I saw the video of the 1850 with an actual sling that looked like it would be sufficient. Thank you for your time.

+therover616 We found that there was no advantage to a fabric sling at the bottom of the pack versus a pair of straps; in fact, using the straps only at the base eliminates weight from the pack while providing additional flexibility for positioning the straps individually to best hold the meat. There are still load stabilizer straps at the base of the pack to stabilize the load to the hip belt, and the side straps cinch the load directly to the frame. Because the new frame design is both lighter and stiffer than the previous one, this system outperforms the previous ICON pack both in stability and weight capacity.

+therover616 You can also check out this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIbCfayfmp1_l80 This shows the process on an ULTRA pack, but the setup is identical to the Icon Pro pack.

is the bag supposed to leak blood like that?

Seriously love your products, but these videos are so bad at showing how to attach some things. Also, I'd love to see the pdf's of how to set these up on the site. It's a huge frustration that I can't see that.

How stiff are your Scarpa boots when hiking?
@kuiuultralight8 жыл бұрын
It depends on which boots. The Charmoz is slightly less stiff, making it a better all-around boot. The Grand DRU is very stiff, so it is better for highly technical hunts with lots of ascents and descents in rocky terrain.

It would have been a more user friendly video, had it been filmed in a more controlled environment...this hunter really did not focus on the connections at the bottom.
