On 1:14 the first number you play 5 with low dot, although in tabs noted without lower dot. But it's ok, I wrote just to notice who is learning :-) I'm learning that song from your video.

Help!!! , my drum doesnt have number 2 with a dot in the top. What other note can I use to get same sound? My drum is a D mayor with 11 notes.

You must use 15 note drum if you want to play exact sound like this. It can not switch to the simple drum

I forget. You can check, its Hluru 15tone class B. The drum use numbers to play not an alphabet. So, what tone it is not a big problem, unless you want use piano as a backsound chord.

The notes range are from 3(dot on below) to 3(dot on upper). Just play it, you will know. Hehehe have fun anyway.. i dont read the book, i play using what i know 😘

Maybe you can use commas or dot. Exp: 3.4.5. etc etc

I just figured it out. place cursor to the right of the number you want to add the dot to. Go to “insert” at the top of the page, then to the far right to Symbols and then to More symbols. From more symbols, look for a dot. You will know you have the right one because in the bottom left hand corner it will say “combine dot over” or “combine dot under” (or something like that). There’s another dot but it will say “full stop” in the bottom left corner of the symbols box. Not the one you want. Once you use that symbol a few times, it will come up so when you click on insert/symbols, it will be right there.

You are very welcome. Glad I could help. Also, just as an fyi, I found in Calibra Light the dot goes more to the middle whereas in Times Roman, the dot seems also a bit to the left of the number. So, play around with the fonts to see what works best for you. Also, I find to “bold” the numbers makes the dots pop out a bit more, which I think will be easier to read when I start practicing (drum should be here in another 10 days to 2 weeks)

Yes I’ve just got a 15 notes steel tongue drum. Looks a lot like yours. I can’t figure it out. We have smaller and bigger tongues and numbers on them from 1 to 7 and each number appears twice yes ? I thons sont you are only hitting the bigger tongues of what I can see. I need to say that I don’t know much about this drum and what notes are on it.

Try to play a simple song first. You will get used to it. See the numbers on the drum, dont see the tongue size..

@@SimpleTankDrum I’ve been watching your videos for the last few days being I just ordered my tongue drum a few days ago and will have it by the end of the year. Is there someplace that you explain the numbering sequence somewhere? (What the dots mean underneath, etc) and can this song be played on an 11 note because that’s what I bought, and I love this song and would like it to be one of the first that I learn to play - when I see three numbers in brackets, it’s one of the higher #’s and therefore it’s not possible? (Don’t know that either) Thank you.

I think you better buy a 15 note drum like mine.. 11 is to small range of notes. You will know what numbers when you see the real thing. Its have sticker on the drum.
