One of my favourites, the hypnotic keyboard by Greg gives it a pulsing rhythmic energy. I would guess that the band enjoyed playing this, as they seem fairly animated (unusual for them). And Ben puts it all out there with a well timed growl! ♥️

Let me help you out. The meaning of this song is about a drug addict. The lyrics describe the visions and sensations a person feels when they are high on drugs. "My shape is shapeless in your suit" = A person stoned out of their mind and can't make out who people really are. "Chrome red eyeballs reflect and roll" = Bloodshot eyes when high on drugs. "When you're cruisin' down the street And takin' off the heat When you're on the moonlight run" = Time for more drugs, so the drug addict goes out at night when they can hide under the cover of darkness to make a run for getting more drugs. "Floating jets and big vignettes" = You could have thrown in purple bunny rabbits or whatever you want but the point is the person is looking at the sky and seeing planes and signs while high on drugs. "Get the treatment grab a cab" = What do you think Ric Ocasek is referring to here when he says "treatment"? DRUGS!!! "You always wait for better news" = Drug addicts tend to be depressed and looking for something to cheer themselves up. "You need a hit you need a slu-ug" = A "hit" refers to another dose of drugs. A "slug" is a slang term for a a subliminal message one might get from being high on drugs. "You don't easily get amused" = People stoned on drugs do not get amused/laugh easily. There you have it. It's all about a drug addict and what the symbolism and imagery this person is experiencing as well as their constant need to keep getting more drugs, hence the name "Cruiser". Always "cruising" for more drugs...
