It is interesting how many Ford Ranger drivers, supporters are commenting about the Hilux. The more they criticize the more Toyota ships those Hiluxes off the dealership floors. People who buy Toyota know what exactly their in for. It is a simple bakkie not overly complicated by technology, i for one don't mind that screen. To some extent i do agree that Toyota is taking us for a ride like in the Legend 50 there is no heated & cooled seats but for some odd reason the seats are perforated & no auto wipers but for what it is intended, it does that beautifully. I have noticed that almost everyone reviewer from Australia to SA are saying the ride quality is bad or not up to standard, I drove the petrol version V6 back in 2017, i never had issue with the ride quality then traded in for a 2.8 GD6 Legend 50 and still loving the ride quality. The only bakkie i can 100% say it is exceptional on ride quality was the previous version of the Amarok especially with that V6 that's it., the rest are just bakkies, nothing exceptional, just depends on your preference. The Ford Ranger is better than Hilux campaign is not deterring those Hilux die hard from buying, if i had the money i will buy it.

I drove a normal Toyota hilux gr with 150kw and being a BMW owner which will most of the time be just cruising at Toyota hilux'es top speed as if its just following a funerals convoy,i felt like its power is enough for what it is and i don't really need my BMW's 235kms/h limited speed on my 520d even though when the BMW demon poseses me id feel like clocking that 260kms/h 😅 Metro if you're here this is just a joke i dont mean it.

If I'm doing long hauls (Cape to Cairo) Toyota Hilux hands down, spare parts are everywhere. Daily driver in SA boarders then I want nice interior to sit in so that's a Ford, VW. Toyota Hilux is far too old and outdated, sure the exterior gets a few tiny updates but as the owner I want to see the improvements to the interior where you spend the majority of your time. Yeah it's going to last decades and would like to have something that's not already decades old. The Toyota Hilux interior is in need of a Major Update!

Thank you for the review. However, I noticed some inaccuracies in your explanation of the shocks. It’s important to clarify that the previous generation's dual damper setup refers to a twin-tube shock design, whereas the new GR model features a monotube construction. This distinction relates to the actual shock design and construction. Additionally, I'd like to point out some concerns regarding the reliability and longevity of the new 2.8 Hilux. We've been running both the GR and Rogue models in New Zealand for over a year now, and there have been several reports of timing chain issues. Lastly, it’s worth considering that while Toyota is marketing this vehicle, it competes in a segment with other options that, in my opinion, offer better value for the money in terms of features and technology.
@tube-dude772 ай бұрын
Yeah, Toyota owners are like any other. Look after the car, it will last. But, they hide their car problems. Just look at the 4 x 4 forums & you will find the issues with suspension, intake manifolds etc. That's why Toyota also have repair centers. It's not a magical piece of engineering, just another car. It also breaks down. It's just not as good value for money as others.
