Why the obsession with electric seats? Once you set up the seats for the driver how many times do you need to adjust them? Electric seats just adds unnecessary weight in my opinion.
@wburger21787 жыл бұрын
Divesh Nair Once you drive a great car (Lexus) and you are insanely tall, electric seats and especially fully automated learning electric seats, are a godsend. It is easy to adjust a seat from large person to small person, but not vice versa, since you need to lean into the car and try to find levers and adjust with your arse outside pointing up in the air. Versus pressing a single button.

i fully agree electric seats just adds more weight and unless its in a luxury sedan it really should not matter.
@wburger21787 жыл бұрын
Amazingly, Datsun had that exact same realization! So they made the Datsun GO. Cheap, light weight, no Airbags, no ABS, and it is not encumbered by any of those heavy NCAP stars.
@DiveshRSA7 жыл бұрын
In a scenario where there is more than 1 driver i agree with you that it makes sense to have electric seats. But if you are the only driver I think electric seats are a waste as once the seats are setup they are practically never used again.
@DiveshRSA7 жыл бұрын
I don't see how a lack of electric seats is a safety concern. Your parallel from the Elantra to the Go doesn't make sense to me.

way better than a corolla, its got more tech and you wont look like a UBBA driver.
@christophergreen69807 жыл бұрын
i fully agree the corolla is really nothing to brag about . MY cousin bought her corolla 2016 full house spec and i have never seen so many defects in the refinement and finish of plastic quality, not to mention the skew stitching on the leather seats with a few parts of leather that look like they are ready to tear at the seams.

This car has 150 kW from a 1.6? Damn that's impressive. I just don't get why it's continuously being compared to the Corolla.. It's far more advanced than it.

If youre looking for a fast sedan and it is not high risk and it's not German. With a few mods. You are to get 180kW plus and 300N.m, I would opt for this

I like the new exterior, especially in the top-of-the-range model! Although I have to say that the plastics inside seem a bit too abundant for a R400k car.

First like & First comment 150kw... from a 1.6 that's 12kw less than a GTI 2.0 needs a few mods and tweaks , and you've some German power in a South Korean sedan

Wait a minute, Hyundai is not going to put dual clutch in the up coming i30 N but this Elantra is rocking one? and they call the i30 N a Golf GTi fighter!! wow. Good Luck with that.
@YusufPetersenCPT7 жыл бұрын
Hyundai did not take the DSG in the i30 for weight savings 50kgs for a couple of milliseconds of gear shift time is not worth it on the track it was intentional. The i30 N Sport package does 0-100 in 6.1 seconds with its manual transmission, the 2017 Golf Gti clubsport with its DSG does it in 5.9 see how close that is without DSG.. its meant to compete with track times not straight line, even though it would be damb close.

1st of all its a sedan it should have an armrest as standard no need to tell us, secondly from what I have gathered in this review is that speed and power are more important that build quality, 3rdly I am shocked that she is impressed by a 1.6 turbo engine that puts out 150kw of power as that means nothing if you opt to have the car for more than 3years as very soon that little turbo will pack up as a result of being over worked. It is still a small engine with a turbo under a big body that has weight. You should worry the moment a manufacturer offers you a drive-train warranty, it simply means that they do not trust their workmanship on their own engines, that is a red flag. The Koreans have really lost their identity, this is why they will always struggle to beat the Japanese because they are too focused on being like germans by using short cuts. The Japanese are catching up with the germans particularly the Mazda brand they are top notch cars from the smallest to the biggest. For me I am not impressed by Hyundai... too much focus on speed instead of other important things that make a car complete.

why is every car in sa compared to a corolla? hyundai cars are built better overall. i guess the sa journalist are still 10 years behind the rest of the world.
@christophergreen69807 жыл бұрын
I also dont know why its compared to a crap toyota corolla ! toyota has poor build quality and old technology when compared to other more sophisticated engines out there like the elantra. I also dont get why toyota would put in a 1.3 engine into huge sedan like that, their interior quality sucks buttons feel like recycled plastic bottles and plastics have a lack finish on the rough edges . The models with leather seats have bad stitching on the seats and are very skew and some parts are looser than other. Id take a hyundai any day over other brands
