Mazda BT-50! : I never liked this ute before knowing that it has a Ford Engine in it. It has the most expensive aftersales parts and service in the Philippines! But now, since MAZDA (the classy exterior and interior designer) made a VERY GOOD decision to partner with ISUZU, (the maker of the most durable engine and affordable aftersales parts and services), I now super admire the 2021 Mazda BT-50. At last, the good looking pick-up in our country that became underrated because of its Ford platform, will surely climb the sales ladder and has a potential of becoming the best-selling pick-up truck in our country. I am so happy with the partnership of these two 🇯🇵🤝🇯🇵Japanese manufacturers. The 2021 Mazda BT-50 is a SUV (exterior) + Sedan (interior) + Pick-up (engine, transmission and suspension) in ONE! 👏👊 so excited to actually see this truck soon! 😍

good video guys and gals at Carsguide. The only issue with Ranger is if you want a manual version you are stuck with either the 2.2L (and nobody wants that) and the now rapidly aging 3.2L 5cyl turbo diesel, that said the 3.2L still is the better choice if you intend on doing long distance towing over the 2L sequential turbo diesel /10-speed auto, as for the new twins, I would tend to favor the Isuzu D-Max for 1 major reason, it's there baby and they will do the most development work with it over the next 5 years , like Ford with Ranger doing running changes and development changes I can't see Mazda doing anything other than styling revisions which leaves me with the thought that if Mazda don't move enough volume that they will simply leave it be and do the absolute bare minimum which also means when it comes to warranty they will try and find ways out of horning warranty issues whereas Isuzu will be bending over backwards to ensure customer support is at high levels.

I agree about cup holders. You may say I need to get a life but it has been a deal breaker for me choosing a vehicle. I had one where I could only put the coffee cup or water mug in the centre console and managed to spill hot coffee all over the console and my passenger. It’s also dangerous because it also momentarily takes away your concentration on the rood ahead. The dash mount cupholders in my 2010 Hilux are perfect as you can easily reach while looking at the road ahead. For me that crucial safety issue matters. John.

I’ve driven the current model Wildtrak for almost two years and love it. The only disappointment I’ve had is with the quality of the seats rather than being all leather they include a fabric piece on the outboard seat edges which on the drivers side tends to show wear in the area where you enter and exit very early on in ownership, in my case part of the seat fabric was showing signs of wear after around 10000kms. It is apparently a common problem and Ford will repair the seat under warranty but it I think it will be an ongoing problem. Just a shame in this otherwise outstanding all round quality vehicle Ford couldn’t get this right. I don’t use the Wildtrak commercially and I’m only slightly built, however other than this one bit of a whinge I couldn’t be happier with the Ranger Wildtrak.

Anyone who purchases a vehicle based on any of these types of reviews is a fool and deserves to be unhappy. So subjective. A feature of one ute that will suit one person, won't suit another. Same with looks, feel, etc, etc. Also, many of the comments made are contradictory. Just one example : Ford Ranger has less ground clearance. Technically correct, but lets be honest, is 3mm going to be a deal breaker? Just for the record, no bias. I drive a Toyota Landcruiser.

As in pervious comment I own a Hilux but in this comparison for me the DMAX ticks all the boxes - looks much better than ageing Ford or the Mazda that still has an ugly nose - DMAX safety kit is impressive - Ford’s poor reliability and customer service culture is woeful and I would.not look forward to paying service/repair costs for not one but two turbos trying to work a small 2 litre diesel with a towing load - I would prefer the 3.2 litre. No payment but damn they love to praise car companies to stay on their good side, it’s obvious when they never critique what cars are like to maintain over 5 or 10 years plus. The Ford will brake down constantly over time and the Isuzu and Mazda will be bulletproof.

it wouldn't really compete as the Trition is better in almost everyway. Better offroad, better safety, better turning circle for city, less fuel consumption, way more reliable and also honest about towing. towing 3.5T behind a 2T duel cab is just bloody stupid, not to mention the payload. tow that with the ranger, and you can't even have 3 passengers without being overloaded haha.

Hopefully this category of vehicle will get over 100kW/t one day. In my employment I've had them all over the last 30 years and while some are better than others, and they have all had huge leaps in comfort and drive-ability, they have always needed a bit more get up and go. They're not complete snails anymore but I'm not the most patient person and find I'm near always flat to the floor in them. I don't really have a favourite brand or model, they've always just been a work tool to me not something to get excited about as they're simply not exciting cars.

You are just not going to get longevity out of a 2 ltr motor in a big ute. Esp if used as intended. That little thing is working really hard to move a loaded truck and trailer when its best suited to a small hatchback. But it produces great power you say? Well that means it's working its little guts out. Also, why don't any manufacturers offer the extra cab in higher spec? Im in the market now but noone sells them above poverty pack. I dont want the rear seats but I want some space in the cab for some gear. Its a really popular size for single blokes or those without kids. The half dozen in my street alone out number the dual cabs. Ive had Isuzus for decades from the old rodeo to the very last incarnation of the dmax. This time I just do not want the rear seats and do want a bit more tray space with cabin space to keep a few things dry and safe but id like the better interior and features of a higher spec than base model.

my only issue with Triton is the turbo lag, the engine from idle to around 2,500rpm has awful turbo lag, step on acceleration shows how poor that engine is no matter what gear the transmission is in, that said once boost kicks in (which is incidentally 2,500rpm) the engine has a wallop of torque and the engine can cleanly get to red line line with ease (but noisy as appreciated as it is still a diesel engine), that said form experience the Pajero Sport with the 8-speed torque converter clearly shows the engine has different characteristics, looking at vital info like transmission ratios and final drive ratio shows that the Pajero Sport version has lower gearing which helps subdue turbo lag that this engine has. If the Triton had the Pajero Sport 8-speed torque converter and lower overall gearing it would solve a lot of issues that Triton has, until then Triton should only be considered as a value buy against the China brands, up against anything else it simply can't compete.
@anthonyramdin10374 жыл бұрын

For the most part it's far superior to the Steed and T60 (China) and Musso (South Korea) vehicles. That said against the best of the best it only really competes on price and their is nothing wrong with that however the game has moved on and say for Triton the "Ballance" is not there at all. It desperately needs the 8 speed to fix the horrendous and as such dangerous turbo lag it has, that or return the engine for better low end torque, maybe get the Nissan 2.3L twin turbo in the engine bay instead since they are all working together.
