There aren't many more important releases in 2022 than the new-generation Nissan Qashqai.
The existing version of the brand's small SUV has been on sale since 2014, and in that time, there have been literally dozens of the new compact SUV alternatives added to the list of options for buyers of this type of car.
So, making sure the third-generation Qashqai (the first-gen of which was called Dualis in Australia) is competitive is vital, especially when you consider that it will compete against big names in the segment, like the Mazda CX-30, Hyundai Kona, Mitsubishi ASX, Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, Toyota C-HR, Toyota Corolla Cross, Kia Seltos, Honda HR-V, Skoda Karoq, VW T-Roc and more. We told you it was a busy segment!
Our man Tung Nguyen spent a week with the all-new Qashqai in Ireland to become acquainted with it before it lands in Australia later in 2022. We know a lot about it already, including the trim levels and grades, equipment and standard features, and even the colours on offer. We just don't know the exact pricing yet.
Even so, Tung reckons the all-new Nissan Qashqai is a compelling option, with plenty of positive attributes. He did find a couple of negative points, too... Watch the video to find out what they were!]
Fun fact: the weird Qashqai name wasn't considered palatable by Nissan's US marketing team, so they went with Rogue Sport instead (and the Nissan Rogue is what they call the X-Trail, too).

Nice work by the reviewer . Although below things are missed 1. Touched upon the infotainment but didn't discuss in detail or provide enough video of the look and feel 2. Same comment in the instrument cluster . Missed footage. 3. Driving experience segment was hushed 4. Interior was also hushed , no screens on the centre console , driver side functions , power adjustable seats , middle seats or transmission tunnel . The whole video looked like the presenter was forced to squeeze a 20+ minute segment to a 13 minute video.

I am SOOOOOO excited for this!!! But bummed about the delay in release. Upgrading from my 2017 Qash Ti…. Love my moonroof!! Disappointed with the colour choices though

Will the Australian models still be coming out of Fukuoka (Kanda) in Japan? This would be a UK (Sunderland) made Qashqai. Previously Australia has also used the Japanese Dualis moniker until it switched over to using Qashqai. I suspect we'd still source from Japan. Sad to see Nissan still holding on strong to their CVT :(

one of the more recent walkaround videos (chasing cars) noted that the Qashqai e-power was from the UK. Maybe conventional will be Japan and the hybrid will be UK? Maybe just a pre production quirk though

I think I learned how to speak australian. Words that have a R at the end, you don't pronounce, so a "car" becomes a "cah", but you don't throw the R away! You put it in your pocket and use it on words that don't have an R at the end, like "via" becomes "viar". Now just remember to drive on the wrong side of the road, and you're practically an aussie now mate!

Efficiency is not very effective if it's 7.3 L per 100 KM. Hence on the other hand it means 14 KM per Litre which I can't say attractive efficiency at all..

I would argue that the X-Trail is Nissan's most important model arriving this year given it is in a much more popular and hotly contested segment, and also sells a lot more units than the Qashqai, but anyway.

The worst engine in the new era, how can the car be less economical. Went for test drive in uk and it’s made me hate it so much, quite spacious and a good drive but my 1.5 dci diesel beats all about the new makes
