I’m not so sure we are such “lucky ducks”. Yes, cars in Australia do come with standard equipment which has to be optioned in some other markets, but we pay for it in higher prices.

Garry56 I see your point, and it would be good to be getting Ben the opportunity to decide what we want and don’t want - for example I’ve got in c-class taxi in Germany with window winders a while ago! The C-Class won't have anywhere near as much space as the old full-size Commodore or even the new midsize Commodore, and has much more cramped dimensions.

@Dark_horse7776 жыл бұрын
The reason for them doing this is because it’s a facelift, they’ve done it with many models the a class is one of them. The a class shape was released as a fresh model and then a facelift now they have completely changed the a class after many years. The same with the c class they will most likely change the shape just like every other Mercedes. Examples the ml changed to the gle class the exterior changed however interior remained ugly and old but now they’re changing it after many years. Most likely a fully changed c class will come in 2021/22, it’s annoying but that’s just how they introduce new features in the car manufacturing industry before they make a drastic shape change model.
@kkjcid6 жыл бұрын
True.. and that is what I am tried to say as well. BUT.. mercedes sales people will try to sell it as a BRAND new model. Its from my own experience. I went to a dealership to see the facelift and this person just kept on babbling how it was all brand new model. I told him its just minor changes and a facelift not a model change. but i guess they get to fool some people who dont know much about cars and then sell them stuff. Now.. if you have to answer my question from the original post. you have the cash that can get you this facelift with old interior or 1 year used E class with widescreen cockpit and all.. what will you choose?
@Dark_horse7776 жыл бұрын
kkjcid my own experience I purchased a c class last year 2018 model because I prefer the sporty look. It’s down to everyone’s choice. Your analogy you can compare that to a 1 year old gle vice versa. I love the e class it’s a comfortable drive and there’s so many improvements on the c class which will come, but that’s just how the cookie crumbles . Every dealer does the same thing. Sales teams, that’s their job to sell a vehicle and pump it up otherwise they won’t meet their quota. My point is the newer c class will come after this face lift as it’s a pattern with most manufacturers even Land Rover does it. Being a current Mercedes owner my self I’ve seen the pattern in all the vehicles. Even the cls had a face lift before this new complete model change has been released. I know it’s stupid but this is more for people who have leases or have the money to afford a new vehicle every time one is released.

Hopefully they improved the sound insulation...the pre facelift model without the acoustic glass, which most test cars had, was on a level like a Golf but not on par with the actual Audi A4 and even louder than an Passat B8 without acoustic glass...here it could have been expected more from a Mercedes. @carsguide6 жыл бұрын
Siquan Wu In the United States the C300 actually starts at $41,400. Also the C300 in the US doesn’t come standard with the 12.3-inch virtual display or the 10.25-inch screen - you have to pay thousands extra for them if you want them. They’re standard features on even our C200. If you want leather seats in your US C300, the same ones that are standard in the Aussie one you’ll need to fork out $2600. Then there’s proximity unlocking $1600 (also standard on ours), the driver assistance package costs $2250 in the US, but standard on the Australian car. The list goes on. So I can see how it may seem ours are much more expensive but it’s partly because the US cars are low on standard features, partly because of the costs of getting the cars to other other side of the world and if you cross the luxury tax threshold then prices skyrocket! Thanks man, Richard
