Radiator Springs Racers is a slot car dark ride attraction in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure. The attraction features third-generation Test Track technology, an attraction located at Epcot in Walt Disney World. Radiator Springs Racers is themed to the fictional world from Disney·Pixar's Cars. The attraction was built at an estimated cost of over $200 million, which took up about 18% of the entire cost of the $1.1 billion expansion plan for Disney California Adventure Park at the time it opened. The attraction takes guests in a six-person vehicle through a briefing with Doc, Lighting McQueen, and other characters from the film Cars. Guests race another guest vehicle through turns and banks, ending with a randomized race result.
At the "What's Next?" presentation at Disney California Adventure on June 11, 2010, Imagineer Kathy Mangum gave a brief rundown of the storyline for the attraction.
Walking past the courthourse, the queue goes through some of the original buildings of Radiator Springs when Stanley first opened his Stanley's Oasis business at the natural Radiator Springs that provided the town's name and enter the old hotel he set up in Taillight Caverns. Guests board their ride vehicle and are taken on an idyllic drive through Ornament Valley Range. The vehicle enters the dark ride portion of the attraction as guests nearly run into several Audio-animatronic characters. As the vehicle swerves out of the way, it encounters the Sheriff who appears as if he is going to issue a speeding ticket, but instead is impressed with the driving skills and invites the car to the town's big race. Before the race can begin, though, Mater has to take the vehicle for a round of tractor tipping. Suddenly, Frank the Tractor wakes up and chases the trespassers off of his farm. On the way back into town, the vehicle is prepared for the race. At this point, the vehicle will either turn to Luigi's Casa Della Tires for a tire change or to Ramone's House of Body Art for a quick paint refresh. From there, the two vehicles sit idle to one another at the starting point. After Luigi's word, the race begins through the remaining out-door portion of the attraction reaching the ride's top speed of 40 mph (64 km/h). The race finishes after the vehicles drop a sloped bank where guests have their on-ride photo taken.

I talked with one of the people that work on this ride and the cars are real and when you take off at the race the squeal of The tire is the actual tires chirping.

They had a bit of technical difficulty but luigi said "Luigi try again ... GO! at 3:26 as the car stops so good save Disney because its like a back up so its not noticable :)

This is the last ride I rode my last visit to Disneyland. We got on it immediately after Tower of Terror and honestly, no better way to calm down than on this great ride.

I love how the track has a lot of branch point. It is also cool how the brake lights actually light up when the cars stop. This look like a LOT of fun.

I waited an hour for this ride and j can honestly say this ride is my favorite by far ! It was so unexpecting ! I didn't think it would go that FAST! And the drops were big ! I didn't expect that from the looks of the video but it was such an amazing experience I can't wait to go on it again ! 😍😍

That's odd, when I rode it we used the fast pass and it took around 15 min at the most. But we went when Disneyland isn't that busy since they were refurbishing.

Yes I went on this ride it’s WAY FASTER THAN IT LOOKS ON CAMERA this was one of my fav rides at this place but when I was on the ride we were just about to start the racing part but then the ride broke down it was off for a couple hrs so we went to go eat food then we went on incredicoaster and the ride was back on

This ride is state of the art ! The first part is absolutely stunning. The cars, the scenery. The race at the end is a thrill - too short though :-( I wish the wait wasn't 110+ minutes because I wanted to ride again and again. Fast passes were sold out for the day by 10:30 am!

Something weird happened at the race beginning with the car in front of you lol. For people who are scared of heights but still want a mild thrill from the race, this is a great ride! Helped me get over my fear of roller coasters and rides. I recommend it to everyone! A thing to note about POVs though, it's always much faster in person.

This ride and the Indiana Jones Adventure ride in Disneyland both have a lot of things in common. They happen to be the most popular rides in their park. They have really LONG lines. And they are actually pretty short rides. The rides aren't really worth waiting unless you use the FassPass.

i do and i don't agree with your comment, i agree English parks don't put much detail into theming, and the anamatronics are very old, and outdated. we do have some amazing rollercoasters in England, the best ones are the smiler, Pepsi max big one and grand national someday Ile save and come to Florida for some of the best rides.

Best to ride this at night. The whole street leading to the ride is filled with neon, and the walkways to the ride (where you undoubtably wait for hours) have so much detail. Disney did a fantastic job on this whole area.
