I can think of two other worker-placement-with-duel games off-hand, and I am sure I have played another, but I can't remember it. Tiny Epic Western Near and Far For the housing that you cannot remember: I recommend getting some sticky circles or maybe just using a permanent marker to add some dots on to remind you. I could never remember how many of each citizen you start with in Anno 1800, so I added half-circles around the edge of the citizen boxes. If you're worried about knocking the stickers off as you shuffle: I can suggest covering the tile front in sticky-backed plastic. That works really well for sealing tiles.

Does this one play well at the 3p count? BGG says best at 4p but I'm not sure how it scales/does not scale down well?

Best at 4, but yes, it's great at 3 too. 2 not as much

One of my favorites. I wish I got it to the table more The duel aspect is semi present in dwellings of eldervale.

The last round worker loss has been my one concern every time I’ve taught this game. It’s never been vocalized to me to be a problem, but the thought still lingers as to whether I think a rule of getting maybe $1 per worker you have at game end. It may give you a point. It may not. But I’d think it could be something to feel like it wouldn’t be a total waste but not game breaking. I’m no designer though, so I may never implement that. 🤷🏼♂️

Tiny Epic Western has a worker placement dueling mechanism. Perhaps they "borrowed” it from Carson City. I dunno.

I coveted those metal coins for years. Hopefully they’ll be an option during the Kickstarter to get those coins by themselves.
