First bike I ever owned or rode. Outgrew it in 6 months. Damn near broke it in half. So many memories on that bike I cannot even begin to lay them all out. I will ALWAYS have a real soft spot for xr200s. Damn near indestructible, run on dinosaur piss. Get you anywhere you wanna go. No problem.

Your instagram clips were 90% of why I was on the app. Much prefer the KZbin vids. I know they are a lot of work to create, but they are much appreciated! I’ve recently switched from mtb to dirt bikes. So I’ve been starting out on clapped out 90s bikes. Don’t think I will be upgrading for a while. So much fun.

Your wife takes alot of roost. She's a trooper. Cool video as always. Been using BBR stuff since I was about 11 years old on my 70 and 100. The 70 I sold but my 01 XR I will always keep. With an OG BBR pipe, Rev box, 120 kit, and springs. I think those bikes are just the perfect size for fun.

Not an XR story, but still apt: We have an XL100 that a couple had twice ridden round the South Island (New Zealand) on. The cam chain tensioner broke at some point allowing the chain to gnaw through both sides of the barrel. Someone welded it back up and it's still running today! Bombproof!!

XR-200, one of the all time great woods bikes. It’s great to see someone else realize this. I trophied the Blackwater 100 on one of these in 1982. I did have to replace second gear a couple of times. I was not aware that was a common problem. Looking forward to more videos on the 200.

Had a 81 XR-200 raced it in harescrambles and then in 83 season of motocross on it in a woodsman class in DISTRICT 7 early 80's made it only halfway through the season until I completely collapsed💀 the frame from the stress of motocross racing 🤣. Was one of the funnest play bikes that had ever owned, the 99 XR- 100 gave it it a good run for its money in the play bike fun factor though .

Thats some badass driving. Had no idea the xr200 was that capable stock. I need to get one as a nice little offroader and for driving in town some. Upgrades I would do: Racing exhaust High flow filter PWK or tm flat slide carb 220cc big bore Performance cam 1 or 2 teeth smaller front sprocket With those upgrades it is probably ripping pretty good however a suspenion upgrade is needed if you want to live.

Btw may I suggest putting 2 to 4 psi of air in your front shocks. They'll be vastly better. I own a 1996 XR200R. Only buy if the engine is stock and not been tampered with by someone who does not know what they're doing. I've had mine since September 2022 and it's now February 2023; and I still haven't been able to get it working. I've only recently taken it to a professional shop to have it worked on. But please, if you want to buy an XR, do so I think they are great bikes for the money. But be sure they are bone stock in regards to the motor. Otherwise you're gonna potentially spend at least twice its value trying to get it working.

Xr200’s are being built and raced at the vintage races now. We did a race at Diamond Dons Ahrma national last year where kevin Windham, John Short, Blake Wharton, Vernon Mckiddie, world champ Trampas Parker and several others raced. They also just raced in their own KING OF DAYTONA xr200 class at Daytona this week. Mickey Dunlap from the old Powroll company is doing a bunch of the guys engines. Look into it Carson and come race with us at Diamond Dons in September. (Can only run a max of 204cc and must have the original frame and drum brakes)

I think I put 85w trans oil in the forks of my XR80 back in the day to give it some hold up 😂 My late friend Craig Kanen 4-stroke guru (your dad may know him) had a fast high-revving XR200 before high performance 4-strokes were a thing. I think Eric Loney (local pro) might have raced it, or at least wanted to race it at the 4-Stroke National in 1998 maybe?

I love The XR 200R back in the 80s Mine was called the Fire Breather 13to 1 compression needle bearing cam titanium valve springs polished cases ECT ECT I would Wheelie that thing thru all the gears My motor was built by Greg Stevenson who is a engineer at NASA now we acheived 13 to 1 not with a domed Piston .Greg Stevenson was the guy that would go to the 4 stroke Nationals in the late 70s early 80s and Smoke White brother s, Powell (sp) ? All the big names you could look at our motors and they looked stock ,pipe ,carb . Instead of like white Bros big carb fat exhaust stroker Crank .Our bikes were faster and looked stock.😎 I was so sad when some theive stole my Fire Breather from Oceanside .It was called the Fire Breather because when I down shifted Fire would breath out the exhaust.
