I would say the E55 AMG is a better bet. It has a simpler 5.4 with a twin screw supercharger. While it 'only' produces 471BHP stock it can easily be pushed to 650BHP with light modification. The E63 on the other hand is far harder to modify to create meaningful power gains. The E55 can also be had for £6000+ and is a much simpler engine to work with. None of that variable valve timing to go wrong.
@CarsWithJB5 жыл бұрын
Yeah most people on forums etc mention the 55 as the better option, I just used the 63 as it fit the 500bhp stock category! I've heard the 63 engine gives some pretty significant trouble too

For those who want a much more modern car then the e63 mentioned in this video with 500 BHP + then consider a w212 e class. You can either get the pre - facelift or the facelift which cost just a little over £20,000. However, the pre - facelift cost around about £19,000. With this you will get much more technology than the older versions mentioned in this video such as a much better infotainment system, Radio, Single CD MP3 Compatibility, 7 inch Colour Display, SD Memory Card Slot, USB, Aux - in Socket. Just search up on Autotrader, Mercedes, E class, E63, 2008 - 2013 and you will find many results. However, if you want the facelifted version, search up on autotrader everything the same as the pre - facelift version except put in 2014 - 2015, and you will find some results with an average cost of £25,000 . If you want the e63s then it will cost around £30,000 - £35,000, depending on the mileage and the condition on all these examples. Hope this was useful and please reply to me if you have any questions or any results and like my comment. Thank You. :)

Wouldn't want a manual in anything with lots of power though, just limits the performance and it's a ball ache in traffic. McLaren F1 is still probably my favourite car, but it wouldn't work as a daily (someone does daily drive an LFA though...nutter, but that's got flappy paddles). I think now manuals are best in cheap cars and track cars like a 911 GT3 although even that one is pretty questionable. If I could drive down country lanes everywhere I'd have a Pug 306 GTi-6 in a flash, driving doesn't get more fun than a small, light NA car with rear-wheel steering, because drifting a FWD hatch is epic. Would keep the GS though...

Any particular reason as to why you say the Mercedes W219 CLS is more unreliable compared to the W211 E Class?.... The CLS is basically a W211 underneath the fancy body with better handling and reliability apparently from what I’ve read. I’ve been considering a E55 or CLS55 and the CLS looks a little better IMO and apparently is overall the best choice out of these two cars.
@CarsWithJB5 жыл бұрын
Only because of the reliability index which put the E-Class as one of the more reliable cars and the CLS as less so! In terms of reviews from owners, I mentioned it was quite difficult to find many proper reviews of the pros and cons. As I said in the video, people do seem to prefer the 55 engine rather than the 63 when it comes to reliability, so might be a good shout (and better on the wallet in terms of running fees)
@lesliechow47195 жыл бұрын
I u want a w219 or w211 amg gets the 55. AVOID 63, back then the engine just came out and it was very unreliable.
@delchodimov19895 жыл бұрын
Actually there is lots of good reviews about pros and cons between 55 and 63 and its reliability on both, ofcourse 55 is more reliable and cheaper to maintain. And with little mods and good tune u can make 55 a best.
@lesliechow47195 жыл бұрын
@@delchodimov1989 Nope. The 63 is not reliable, its not worth it. Get the prefacelift W211 //AMG E55.

You alright mate, how much would you say it costs to remap or get a bmw 730D to stage 2-3? Also would it be worth it?
@CarsWithJB5 жыл бұрын
Good question - I'm probably not the best person to ask, as a general rule I've seen than stage 1 can be around £400-600, stage 2 goes on to around the £1,300-1,500 point, and stage 3 can get really costly, as you have a lot of things to consider (brakes, suspension etc) in order to make it worthwhile - a remap alone would be far cheaper, and you could potentially look to see if there's a JB4 module or something like that for your car. Otherwise I would say go for stage 1 first and foremost to see how much it benefits the car before looking to push for the 2 and 3!
@lowkey77015 жыл бұрын
Its a 3.0L with 240+ BHP, also the exhaust is stock but what would you recommend to make the car give out a nicer noise rather than the normal hair dryer noise 😂🤷♂️
@CarsWithJB5 жыл бұрын
@@lowkey7701 Haha another good question - slightly more difficult given it's the diesel - I feel like you have to go for a lower/burbly noise when it comes to diesels to make them sound mean as the exhausts that try to make them rev higher don't do it for me (personal preference) - I don't know which brands do 730D exhausts though other than CKS and Maxiperformance!

@CarsWithJB6 жыл бұрын
I assume it's possible - it would be a horrifically tough and expensive job though when you consider all the different parts that would go into it, and it would likely be irreversible!

Cars With JB I really really wanted to have the only twin turbo s6 in the United States. I have a budget of $11,000 but that’s probably not enough huh?

I'm not really sure to be honest - I think given the amount of hassle you'd have to put in to make it work it might work out easier and cheaper to just buy the RS6 engine and put it in there instead!
