Unfortunately she gave up after around 6,000 miles (probably my fault for rubbish oil) but I was sad to see her go! Currently have a Peugeot 206 1.1 and far prefer it to be honest, (looks better, handles better, the one i have has only 60K miles etc.) but I'll always miss my little Polo 🙂

Great to see a youtuber with a normal car. I've owned several cars from the Vw group, however I've been most and impressed with Peugeot, my 508 ticked all the boxes. @CarsWithJB6 жыл бұрын
Haha I feel like we all have to do the best we can with whatever we have - I feel like having the Polo allows me to learn a lot of more technical/maintenance/mod stuff in a safer environment! Interesting that the Peugeot was the best for you, my mum's had 2 of them and they were so unreliable! But the Bora I have heard is a great car/a lot of fun to drive 🤙🏽

@@CarsWithJB I used to be an anti pug lover. It wasn't until I purchased 407sw with the sports pack for work my attitude to them changed. It had no faults with it and I used to treat it like shit. I saved up a large sum of money and was able to be looking at nearly new c class mercs but was so disappointed with the build quality I thought I'd take a punt at the new 508. The rest is history really, super comfy, all the toys you need, great looking car, cheap to run and tax, quiet within the cabin and a great all rounder. I'm still toying with the idea of getting another bora for some fun.

I have a Polo 9n 1.4 Fsi. I have it for almost two years now and i love it. Its not fast or big but its perfect. She is beautiful. Its a polo special and got the special rims. Its quite cheap to maintain and i just need about 7 liters per 100km. The handling is perfect but in my way the center of mass is a bit to high in my opinion. The only mods i added so far is a k&n air filter for the extra 0.1 ps. She will get this year a complete rework so i can drive it the next 2 years without any problem. Oh and i love your videos^^

I own a Seat Ibiza 6l 1.9 TDI @ 131hp as my first car, which afaik is based on the same platform as the Polo. I love it, even though there are a lot of things that grind my gears (pun intended I guess). For a first car the size of these is just great because you can fit in almost every parking space. And I actually have a lot of equipment such as automatic windows in the front and back, 5 doors, automatically foldable and heatable mirrors, 6 gears, good amount of torque and power, pretty good sound system and because it's a diesel it even has very good mileage. I really like the editing style you do in your videos keep it up.

This video you have created is so spot on with having a first car. Especially having a wonderful car like Penny. I am currently in University and I purchased my first car a few months ago. Its a beautiful Ford Fiesta MK6.5 and its a 1.25 freedom. Its a 56 reg (2006) and its an amazing car. Considering alright its what some people will class it as "old, slow, not so modern" as I have had people say. My car has everything I need. I am lucky that I even had an amazing car. Still modern for me and always will be throughout my life owning it. Probably after uni I will still be a proud owner of it. The car itself has modern features like AUX and A/C and I have even put my little mods on it. No matter what. You should always go with a car from 2006 or under as you will appreciate the car you get. Like what JB says... you build an amazing relationship with your car and you will care and nurture it. Funny enough my car is booked for a timing belt change and full service in January. :D

I’m afraid the little Polo is also sadly no longer. A 57 plate Audi TT pulled out on me right at the last moment at a cross junction. It was my right of way as I was on the main road. I T-boned the TT and it span out 3 times and reared through someone’s garden wall. My Polo had just shunted the TT out the way and carried on to park itself at the side of the road. Completely bent all the panels at the front and damaged the radiator and the airbags went off as well. My current and first car is a w202 c220 and it is the complete opposite of the polo. Its big, uses a lot of fuel, expensive to maintain, and the handling is terrible, I have about 15cm of play in the steering wheel and I can push down a corner of the car about 8cm by just leaning on it :D

i have a peugeot 207 1.6 HDI 92hp, 135k miles, i love how it looks and even how it drives, low and weak torque is its only downside, any suggestions?
@CarsWithJB6 жыл бұрын
Try a new air filter and a full oil change just to get the car running a bit nicer, then use that as a platform to work from - maybe a remap is in order?
@chouyt21586 жыл бұрын
@@CarsWithJB did that, its not like there is a problem with it, i have also a mk7 vw golf (the 2.0 tdi with 5 speed mt) and its very fun to drive because how much torque it has, i also had a 208 hdi (same engine as 207 basically) and it wasn't this obvious, the car originally has horse power but weak torque and that can be so annoying specially when cruising around in the city or in twisty roads, my question was, any suggestions for down to earth modifications without going too crazy?

I'm thinking about buying a 9n but I'm wondering which one should I take the 1.2 engine like yours or the 1.4 tdi 75hp
@marcocal86202 жыл бұрын
It depends on where you live and how you will use the car, for me personally, I would go with the 1.4 TDI, as I own one myself, it’s reliable, has amazing torque, good fuel economy, and it’s pretty fun to drive, the only downside would be the idling sound when cold, the 3 cylinder diesel does sound a lot like a tractor, but despite that, it’s and amazing car and I think you’ll be fine with either the 1.2 or the 1.4 TDI.

Sorry bro I dont agree. If you have the cash of course always go for a brandnew car as the scratches, errors and lil bumps will tell your story and no the story of someone else. So if you buy a used car with faults, those are not yours, this was not your story to tell. Just my two cents.
@CarsWithJB4 жыл бұрын
Yeah fair opinion for sure - difference with a new car is the depreciation, I fortunately won't lose any cash on the actual value of this car!

@stber87056 жыл бұрын
It used to be some sort of civil police car ( not kidding) before I bought it at an auction for retired authority vehicles and because of that it has an automatic transmission. I never saw that so I thought that would be pretty cool. Witch it somehow is, even though it is even slower and uses more gas(perfect for driving hangover home from partys the next day btw.). And after driving it all the years and having to invest not a single Euro for repairs I had to get it to the mechanic 5 times last month for different reasons... the mechanic also told me that the transmission makes strange noises so it would be a good idea to get rid of it. Still feels pretty bad, it was my first car. I had other cars but this thing is just so enjoyable and relaxing to drive. (Sorry for bad English.)
@CarsWithJB6 жыл бұрын
Ah that's sad - cool that it was a police car previously though! Definitely not fun to see your first car go, I really struggled watching mine get taken to be crushed :( But hopefully onwards and upwards to better cars!

What is under steering
@CarsWithJB6 жыл бұрын
Opposite of oversteer - so rather than sliding the rear of the car out like a drift, the front end slides and doesn't turn as well as you would expect. A wise man once said oversteer means the rear end of your car hits a wall while turning a corner, and understeer means the front end hits a wall instead!

i'm going to love my first car a VW Polo it's not a Mustang it's not a Camaro it's not a Challenger it's not an Impreza it's not and Evo it's not a GTR it's not a GT86 and that's is not bad it may not be any of those cars and that's not bad because trying to have a sporty car as your first is really dumb especially if you have a budget of £600

Love the videos! Honestly, the Whiteline BWR19Z anti roll bar kills all understeering. I've had nine on for two weeks and it takes corners like never before. 150 quid and you can confidently take the corner as fast as you like. Even better as there as not too much power to the driven wheels regardless. Check out Vperformance for their install and summary. They have a before and after video too, which prompted me to get one. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qWq0fK1qftBnh9E
