Carter's humanity was his strongest attribute.Despite everything that happened to his character, it never faded. A beautiful moment.

I agree...lot of docs tend to get jaded as time goes by....carter held onto whatever little humanity he had which made him an amazing doctor!!!

Carter had good moments and bad moments, he could be a true wild card. But holy crap...moments like this, and when he took control during the Benzine fiasco, are prime examples of why he is such an exemplary character.

@@debbiem9005 i think it’s where there was a spill, Weaver collapsed from it, and loads of injured people kept arriving but they couldn’t stay in the ER as it would affect them. Everyone was shouting over each other but Carter got everyone to shut up and figured out where they could go.

A favorite of mine too. I believe it was also played (perhaps for the first time) when Susan tells Mr. Parker he has "6 months ... to a year" in the pilot episode.

Unreal how much gravity the scenes have with the soundtrack. It really is the invisible character of the show, almost like the soul of the hospital.

There are so many magical moments in the scene. The way carter almost walks by and doesn't see benton, and then turns around last second because there's his buddy on the ground benton and relieved, and absolutely happy that he hasn't tested hiv positive. Carter comparing himself missing his graduation to his idol and mentor Benton. The way that BENTON tells him to take care of himself, but in reality it will be Benton that will be taking care of him at his most critical moments. And finally, that lovely fist pump indicating that you have graduated now and have become a friend, and colleague ❤

Anybody who goes thru this process knows that it's not med school but residency that makes you into a real doctor.
@GreenRiver723 жыл бұрын
This was just after Benton found out he might be HIV positive per his relations with Jeanie Boulet. I believe they had had an argument where he confronted her for not therefore resigning from emergency medicine, and that he would do so in a heartbeat. So here he sits contemplating his future, one doctor's career starting, perhaps another's suddenly ending.
@vickenator Жыл бұрын
Thanks for confirming this -- I couldn't remember if he'd just found out he was HIV-negative or that Jeanie was HIV-positive. I think later once he found out he was HIV-negative he went to the family picnic and met up with Carla Reese.
@RogueBlackOp Жыл бұрын
So that’s what he meant by “Take care of yourself Carter.” It sounded final. But I’m glad that he was negative and stayed. Carter was his best with Benton as his mentor
