@@phillxor but what's the point?
@jttech446 жыл бұрын
Accuracy. They're shaving tenths of a second off doing these modifications and we have no real way of knowing if it was accurately timed. For all we know the weight reduction is ruining the balance of the car and the time improvement was due to inaccurate timekeeping not the modification.
@thecaptain50266 жыл бұрын
@@jttech44 no shit, again: I think it would take away from the idea of a few lads with a car. The current wat of timing is good enough. It would be different if they changed the guy who did it every time.
@RC-ic1co6 жыл бұрын
Even with the well-discussed limitations (smartphone timing, focus on what you can buy from CarThrottle, etc.), I like this series a lot. This video made me wonder, whether they'd want to repeat finding the optimal tire pressure (as done in Episode 3: Once they hit the right pressure, the lap time improved significantly), since the properties of the car have changed so much in the meanwhile. Other than that I'm astonished, just how marginal the lap time improvements are given such significant changes (like more engine output in the last episode or now a whopping 150kg improvement!). Now, of course, I can't help but feel they keep up their mode of timing in order to come up with certain lap times roughly according to a pre-defined script for the series - but even if that was so, I'm still thankful for the production of this most entertaining series.

Headliner, dash, door panels, all of the climate control nonsense. That's an easy 100kg from the front of the car. The issue they're going to have is that anchor of a motor up front, so every bit helps and allows you to run some ballast to balance the car out a bit, maybe combined with the wider rear tires that they decided to forgo previously. While they're at it, a better differential would help the launch quite a bit because it's definitely slipping and only letting one tire really eat off the line. That, and moving the battery to the rear, a proper cage and a fuel cell are all going to be necessary very soon here. Might as well get lexan windows on the sides and rear and a proper intake/exhaust because we're very clearly building a race car here and it ought to sound the part.

You havn't got traction control fully off, when you press DSC and get the orange light in the middle that just allows wheelspin/slip but the stability control is still engaged, hold the button down instead of pressing it and you'll notice the middle light comes on then a couple of seconds later the handbrake light will illuminate orange, this means you have it fully off, the way you have it at the moment it will be interfering when you hit the corners hard, your welcome! 👍🏻

Im little bit disappointed about weight reduction,i would have expected full-strip. You have removed most interior but keep heavy stuff like speaker,audio unit,side and passenger airbag,side pannel (for example only 1 speaker can weight about 1 pound/ half Kg!!!).
@8bitnitwit6 жыл бұрын
Yeah I was thinking the same, the double-din head unit I removed from my Toyota recently is really heavy too

PSA: if you still plan on streeting your car you should also keep your regular shoulder belt. 4-point harnesses are less safe in normal traffic collisions. Just use the harness on the track.

Ok so... I just got one question. Right now, I feel not so comfortable because I got a economics test of 4 chapters (not too big chapters) on next monday and its already 11:24 pm so I only got 2 days to study... the reason I’m beginning so late is because sometimes I feel like I need to enjoy just relaxing and playing some video games instead of always making homework or learning almost the whole week, especially in my weekend. Sometimes I even think like I’m only 16, I really need to enjoy some relaxing. I just really dont know what to do right now, should I grind hard af tomorrow? Economics is so hard man, I hate school but I want to get my diplomas and good grades and stuff... Sorry for my bad English :( thank you

Ted Schoenling It was just a question, because he mentioned, that the car should stay driveable in traffic. I dont say that the law is right, I was just curiouse. ... And here in Austria u have to let check your car every year.... And if you change something like that or police stops u it would mean u were not alowed to drive it anymore.... so just me beeing curiouse how other countries handle that... I really like this project and "car throttle" ;)
@karlosbricks24136 жыл бұрын
Somuchen well, here we also have an annual MOT test where they have to check your car. If there is no SRS light on the dash when you do your MOT test, you should be okay, although if you get injured in a crash and haven't told the insurance company, then they can refuse some or all of the money.
@peto226 жыл бұрын
Somuchen I'm pretty sure that the rules with regard to safety equipment are quite similar throughout the EU. So I would say that this car is no longer roadworthy and that kills the whole idea.
