Video about the Monastery of Santa Maria Scala Coeli, commonly known as Carthusian Convent, in Évora. Built in the late 16th century, it features a spectacular Renaissance style marble façade, of Italian inspiration. Inside, it has an exceptional high altar in gilded wood and important 18th century wood choir stalls. The largest cloister in Portugal is located here, with almost 330 feet on each side.
