So interesting, I just watched someone else’s unboxing and when she went to test the bracelet she was buying in store, it just flung open. So she said to the SA she wanted the stiffer hinge. The SA said this is the newer mechanism they had to hunt for the older stiffer hinge for her, she got the last one of that kind in her area, as apparently they are phasing the older stiffer mechanism out for the new one that flings open more easily. The SA apparently said to her that people complained that the old hinge was too stiff to open that’s why they changed it. 🤷🏾‍♀️ If this is the case seems they better change it back to the stiff hinge as this is the third video I’ve seen that people said they are worried about the loose hinge.

The stiffer hinge is definitely harder to open n close but for me, I prefer it. I don’t take off my bracelet , so the stiffest doesn’t bother me. Plus I think it is much better than flinging open . Oh well

Thankfully, I purchased the same bracelet w/diamonds and it is also stiff. I am so grateful since they had to order mine since none in stock in my area. Great video as usual! ❤️

Hi Kat, thanks for sharing this story as I'm so sure this will help other people out there that may be struggling with a defective hinge/closing mechanism. So sorry to hear you had to go through so much stress for such an expensive piece but I'm glad they were finally able to fix it for you! Glad you were able to fix this early in the life of the JUC and that it fell open at home and not on the street like you said! I really hope Cartier will have better quality control on these pieces as they are not cheap but thankful they fixed it for you with no problems!! I've also been hearing about love bracelets with loose nails and dismantling on it's own! Have a good week and thanks so much for sharing!

Wow! I got mine around Dec 2019 and I wear it 24/7 and it hasn’t ever fallen off. I just checked and mine is stiff at the hinge. But my SILs has an older version and it has come unhinge while washing her car.

How can you tell where the bracelet is made? I didn’t ask when I was buying mine... so glad you were able to detect the issue at home and got it fixed!

From what I saw online the old closing mechanism where the location holes look like a snowman ⛄️ a small hole above a larger hole. And the clips up and into the hole. Then on the new one the location hole is just one circle. So it doesn’t lock in place like older one. I could be wrong. But it seems that way from woozy outdoor Adventures video (new closure one hole) and another video I watched where the lady requested the old style version (two holes).

Hi darling, Happy New Year. Yes, Cartier has great customer service. Last year I had an issue with my Love bracelet and after even a year, they exchanged it. But in regards to your Nail, I have had one for over 8 years and wear it day and night, and the hinge feels loose as well, but I have never had an issue with it falling off. I think because my lock is the old version, maybe that's why. But I am glad you are happy with it, I think it is a beautiful, timeless bracelet.xo

I had the same thing happened to my T1 bracelet from Tiffany and Co. Send it for repair and the hundred was super tight when I picked it up. But I’ve noticed, it starting to loosen up again after some time of wearing it. I don’t usually keep it on, it’s off as soon as I’m ready to go to bed so not sure if that’s the reason. But I remember adding the store manager of this us that type of bracelet that you shouldn’t take on and off and he said, NO, It’s totally fine to do it.

I think if I had it all to do over again I’d get the JUC that doesn’t fasten. There is a thinner version that twists and slips on. Or if you decide to get the original bracelet like mine make sure you get it insured. It’s truly a beautiful bracelet.

No matter how pretty, spending such an amount only to have to worry about losing the jewellery is just not worth buying the item. If its a cheap piece of jewellery, fine, it might be acceptable. But how can such a loose jewellery even pass qc test to be sold for few thousands, even close to 10,000? It just doesnt makes sense. Thanks for sharing your story and i will remain wary of this bracelet,no matter how much it is being hyped by social media.

Oh no!!! This is the exact reason I went preloved because I wanted the old lock mechanism where it’s nearly impossible to take off. Very happy everything worked out for you :)

Worst fear come alive. That’s what has stopped me from getting one. I’m so scared it’ll fall off. It’s nice that they fixed it. Idk if after the fix I would be fine. I think I would still be paranoid.

I wear it all the time. Am not sure if it is recommended to wear all the time but being jewelry, I would think it is ok. In fact, I am afraid the constant “take off, put back on” might cause it to be loosened 😅😅😅

I just received my bracelet after placing an online order and my hinge is loose also the lock keep clicking when i press on it. I messaged the SA and shes saying the hinge on the new ones is loose and it was the last piece left in my size. I dnt know what to do. Also i am so nervous to wear it at work as people will think i am psycho to wear a 10450$ bracelet and will talk behind my back. I really love this bracelet so much that i couldnt stop myself from buying it but really worried about people gossiping about me too 😰

Very disappointed w cartier’s qualtiy... at this pricepoint, every piece they sell should be perfect. The hassle of bringing it back for repair and the anxiety (not mentioning the possibility of it getting lost) ... sigh... happy u got it back the way it should be in the first place..
