Today I want to share my story of how saving more than 20% on Cartier went wrong for me, while buying in their official boutique. I will show you the unboxing of my new piece and the story time of what went wrong as well as how to avoid making the same mistakes when purchasing a piece from the house.
Please share the video with your friends, as it might help them with their purchases.

Thanks for your honest opinion and sharing this information. I’ve noticed how The sales people always put the jewelry on you and from now on I will put it on myself 😊. Lessons learned.

Thank you for sharing. But to be fair…if they warned you you could not exchange, a disclaimer was put. This is why I try not to buy overseas that much (ironic because I do anyway), but I am aware of the consequences. And to be fair, they did fix your item for free. I wouldn’t say it’s a defect either….the hinge will loosen over time (it probably got tried on a bit at store). But I get your pain as I also got my original juc in store and in two days I saw scratches and had to exchange. Happy for your purchase though - it is a good piece!!

I also forgot to mention….my original juc was super tight and hard to open(the one I exchanged - not sure if I was a newbie and didn’t know how to open it), and my second one was tight but easier to open. Although there was a preference to have the tighter flawed one, I know I also don’t want it that tight to struggle putting it on and off. My friends and I did try several pieces in store and all of them differed in terms of how it opened or not. When it comes to this piece it’s just good to try a few for preference.

You definitely have a point for sure! I am very grateful they repaired it for free and yes it's definitely a misunderstanding of mine that I did not realize that "defects/ faulty goods" cannot be replaced. And i am not necessarily referring to this item as truly defective, but it was confirmed to me at the boutique that defective items for my future information cannot be replaced/ exchanged... And to be honest, it does not make much sense to me, because they are the producer... so in my opinion they have to responsible for their goods, regardless of where one buys it. And I did buy it from their own boutique, just in a different country.. But that's just my interpretation 🙂 I forgot to mention, one of the reasons why I was surpised is because I had a similar experience once, where I bought a pair of sandals in the airport ( same, claiming detax) and they didnt fit me. So I went and exchanged them in the boutique in Paris... so that makes me wonder how that was possible 🙄 It's an important experience to have I think for future... And I am grateful I had the bracelet fixed and can enjoy this beautiful piece now. it is truly so special this JUC 😍

Thank you for sharing your experience! It is interesting to know that every piece is different, because I haven't had the opportunity to try many different ones. I think I like the fast that at least so far the closure is super tight and I do struggle a bit to open it especially with my left hand 😂 but I dont mind, I prefer not to take it on and off too much, I do fear that the closure mechanism will wear out... Please share your experience on how it wear over time, if over the years it has become looser or not, would be very helpful!

Hi! I bought a YSL purse in Portugal and with the excitement of it all didn’t check it well. Once I got home I realized it was damaged and I couldn’t let it go. I went to the boutique back in the US and they said they could only fix it since I purchased it abroad which was unacceptable to me as it was new. YSL after all is European company and I bought a European item in Europe! It didn’t make any sense however the manager did not budge… so I called YSL corporate who assured me YSL is YSL no matter what country. They asked for pictures and apologized, shortly after the manager from the same store that initially said no called me to let me know they had a new bag for me to exchange. Packaging and all. There is always a chain of command and sometimes you have to go a bit higher. A company should always stand behind their product. YSL is no Cartier but they do both sell luxury items and they made it right.

Thank you for watching the video and sharing your experience! I am sorry to hear about your issues with Saint Laurent, sometimes it is very frustrating… You were so right to call their main office to inquire about the issue! I haven’t even thought about doing that, such a smart move! With Cartier though… I did go to the main store in Paris and spoke to their director and they did repaire it for free. So I am not sure that anything would change in my case if I called their main office… but thank you for the tip! I’ll definitely keep it in mind for future purchases ☺️

I think this is unacceptable customer service for a luxury brand. It's not that you purchased a discounted item, the tax refund should have nothing to do with return / exchange policy. They still got the full amount of what it's priced at. BTW maybe it's just the case in France? In the US I inquired about exchanging an item that I purchased abroad and I was told by Cartier SA that I can exchange, but I will have to pay the tax, which is totally fine.
@sofialyyk

Thank you for watching the video and for sharing the information! That is very interesting that they let you exchange items in the US, but to me that makes perfect sense 😊 Yes exactly ! The item is not discounted it is a tax back because I was visiting the country… So I spoke to the representatives in the main / original boutique in Paris and that’s what I was told. They did tell me that it is the law… and so on But to be fair I had another high end fashion house exchange the item for me that I bought in the airport and it was fine… so it’s a mystery at this point 😂

Thanks for sharing! I almost bought my JUC in Japan too! I remember the hinges being super loose…on ALL the size 18 JUCs I asked to see. I know which KZbin video you’re referencing to - Kat’s video! I decided to just buy my JUC in my local boutique. The hinges were SUPER tight there! Although I had to pay a little more, I saved the stress of possibly losing my bracelet and/or going through this repair process. Enjoy your pieces! 💖

Thank you for sharing your experience ! It actually made me feel better, because I thought I was so unlucky to stumble upon this rare issue… but apparently it’s very common in Japan especially 😳 To be fair I saved over 20% on this purchase, which came up to a hefty discount… so I don’t know what I would do even if I was aware of this issue, probably ask them to order me the right one from somewhere 😂 It’s always a safer choice buying your pieces at the local boutique, that is without doubt! Now I am hesitant to get my next purchases abroad despite the potential different in price… Thank you for watching the video and sharing your story! ❤️

@@sofialyyk I'm glad it worked out at the end for you! Such a beautiful piece! I got the regular JUC in yellow gold with no diamonds, size 18! My first ever luxury bangle! I've had it for a year now; it's truly an everyday piece for me!! If I were to go back in time, I should've got a size 19...after buying other bangles, I learned that I love a lot of movement with my bracelets. Feels more comfortable too! Still love my JUC regardless!

Thank you! despite all the issues, I already love the piece! There is definitely something very special about JUC collection ☺ Such a great purchase you had as your first piece! It's perfect for everyday! Have you had any issues with the opening mechanism over the years? I am curious if it gets looser as one puts it on and off over time. I agree about the sizing, I definitely enjoy looser pieces and sometimes I wish I got larger sizes for my love bangles too when they feel a little tight. Although I am not sure it would work for me, as I tried size 19 JUC and there was a lot of weird gapping, the bangle just didn't fit my arm correctly...

@@sofialyyk My JUC has never opened up on me! I've had absolutely no problem with it. I shower and exercise with it. I play Taiko(Japanese drums) and swing my arms like crazy...if it can withstand that, it could do so for anything! haha I do take it off frequently, since I need to remove all my jewelry for performances. Removing my JUC at least 3 times a week, every week...the mechanism is still in amazing shape!

I'm agree with you... they should stand with their products. The S.A they should know there was a defect with the item. No excuse they see these kind of items everyday. I feel bad for you.... I'm doing my research right now because I'm interested in 1. I hate spending money on high end designer when there's defect and making bunches of excuse because is not from the same country. Then why are they accepting money that made from another country.... by the way your JUC with diamonds looks very nice I love it. Good luck time....❤❤❤

Thank you for watching the video! 🙏 I completely agree with you, to me it makes perfect sense... They are the producer, so any defects they should be responsible for, regardless of where i bought it from. Besides, I bought it from their official boutique on top of everything! Although, I am not aware of the laws, it could be a french law that imposes such a weird issue on them.. that they cannot exchange a faulty good because it was bought in another couple.... But still to me doesnt make sense, it just wrong in my opinion:) But to be fair, they did repair it and I hope that it will be the same for anyone who experiences an issue. Hopefully everything is reparable, that my only hope 😅 I hope it doesn't discourage anyone though! I wish you the best with your purchase and I have quite a few items from Cartier that so far I haven't had an issue with... and I will continue building my Cartier collection too😌 I just think we should be more aware as a customer, at least me personally and and more careful with the purchases☺ I hope you will get your piece soon and it will bring you lots of joy!

I loved this video. That’s why Although I love the JUC original size all the issues regarding it possibly falling off scares me. Imagine swimming in the ocean and it’s not on your wrist anymore or even walking the park and it’s gone that’s scary. This thin I have and I love how it stays put no issues. But I’ve been thinking on the diamond small version but I’m really obsessed with my small no diamonds. If you had to do it all over would you pick the small with diamonds after your experience? ❤

I am so happy you enjoyed the video! And you have such an amazing piece, the small bracelet is a great piece to have! But to answer your question, it is hard to say to be honest! I have had my small juste un clou bracelet without diamonds for years now and ironically I think I would still go for the classic model despite all the issues I have already had with it… It’s hard to pin point one reason only for my choice, but I would be happy to go in details in a review if that’s something that would be interesting, let me know ☺️ To simply it, I think that spending this amount on a classic model is more reasonable than spending the amount ( even though it’s 3 times cheaper) on a smaller model. I hope that makes sense 🤔

Thank you for your support dear ☺️ yes we all learn from our mistakes… It’s a good idea probably to buy all jewelry from your local boutique in cause you have an issue with the item. But to be honest I enjoy getting those pieces abroad, it’s like a memory of your trip 😌 there is a risk though, evidenced by my experience 😂 I am sad to hear that you purchased a wrong size for your small love bracelet. Was it too late to exchange it when you realized you made the wrong choice?

are the watches from Cartier worth it? I am thinking about getting the Panthere mini..but I think it is not worth 4.000 euros...
@sofialyyk
@sofialyyk Ай бұрын
In my opinion, the watches in gold are worth it, because it’s a piece of jewelry more than a watch to me at least…. I am however hesitant about their watches in steel, as they don’t even have a sophisticated mechanism and they have a quartz movement mechanism… So personally I am waiting until hopefully one day I’ll be able to afford a gold version or at least a half gold version, but otherwise I think I would get a different watch in steel☺️ Having said that, if you really love the design, it’s worth it for you! As you will enjoy wearing it and it will bring you joy! And that’s the most important thing 😊

Thank you for watching the video 😘 I am sorry to hear about your experience with VCA… this must be very frustrating, especially if you were reassured by your s.a. This is why I’ve been so hesitant to get pieces from them, I’ve been reassured for example that onyx is not sensitive to water but even with this one- I have my doubts 🤔 In general I think these brands have to be more transparent about the potential issues with their pieces, this is not ok, when you have to pay this amount… I hope you can still enjoy your bracelet though, it is such a stunning piece! Mother of pearl is my favorite from their collection! 😍

@sofialyyk
@sofialyyk Ай бұрын
Oh that was the easiest tax refund I have ever had! They have a brilliant system there, the tax refund is instant when you purchase the item! So it’s either: you get the refund at the department store right after your purchase or you pay the price without tax straight away, which is super convenient ! For me, I went to their official boutique, you have to bring your passport and they just charged me the price without tax 😊 The tax is 10% but some department stores take a cut, for my VCA for example I got 7.5 or 8% I think, because the department store took the rest… so make sure you go to an independent boutique or double check before ☺️
