On Wednesday, June 20, 2001, Eric and I left Baie-Comeau bright and early for the 330-mile, 7'45" drive to Mont-Wright, Fermont, Quebec, the northernmost terminal of the Cartier Railroad. There is a gas station/restaurant about halfway, otherwise there is NOTHING! Certainly not a place to break down. Almost half of the drive on Route 389 is gravel, as you can see in the video. We got to Mont Wright in time to catch a southbound ore load departing for Port Cartier. Since the entire railroad runs through Canada's wilderness, all the sidings are labeled alphabetically from Able north to Wright, starting at the south end. This video takes us to Rob Siding. Enjoy!
