Quizzy or any American reading this: Asking as a European, when Quizzy says "there's a meth lab on 26th and 1st" Does that mean the cross between 26th street and 1st street? or is it something completely different. And don't the streets have names everywhere, or do they just have numbers sometimes? How does it work?

American towns and cities have streets named for numbers. The closer the street is to downtown, the lower the number gets. So 1st street would be right into the center of the town. They may also have a street called Main Street. The streets in American towns and cities also have names. So it is a mixture of names and numbers. In the rural areas, they are mostly names. Some states will have numbers out in the middle of nowhere. Utah is a good example. So, yes. They are a mixture. I am confused about the 26th and 1st Street though. Also when a highway (not to be confused with an interstate) goes through a town or city, it is still a number. An example would be Highway 231. That same highway will be 231 but it will have a name or a street number on it within the city limits.
