Cartmel Fell is one of Wainwright's Outlying fells and it is located in the Winster valley of the Lake District. This short film by Andy Beck shows the features that you will find on this simple walking route.

hi i lived in grange in the 60s and 70s i also worked there in late 80s at a garage must do a road trip bk up to my old stomping ground and take my dji friend lol also when i was a kid and even up until the late 80s there was no sea grass it was all rocks and sand up to the prom i see the bandstand years ago it had glass windows i shot a lot of them out with a catapult boy did i get into trouble ps love the music i must learn to edit my shit

I'm due to visit Cartmel, from Canada. This video is a great inspiration. Seeing that cottage/barn, it would be great if that could be brought back into use while retaining its rustic exterior.

Thanks Adrian. I have had a Gopro Hero 5 for a few years, nearly all of my films a done using that. The Lumix gave up the ghost a while back.

@@AndyBeckTeesdale Bit of a misinterpretation as to your location you are in Cartmel Fell and Saint Anthonys is in Cartmel Fell which is a hamlet. Cartmel Village is 6.5 miles away and not in the same parish as Cartmel Fell. The cairn is also locally known as Rainsbarrow Old Man.

@@gilcrowe7296 you are correct of course about the name of the village/fell. In my defence as I was filming it was confusing to try and talk about the name of the village with the church being the same as the fell that I was walking up. Do forgive me for the confusion. Have you any idea as to why or when the "old man" was built or by whom?

@@AndyBeckTeesdale Hi Andy, No problem. I was just a little confused by the reference to Cartmel Village. I have no idea about the old man all I remember is that we used to run up to it every week when I attended Cartmel Fell school. Also, the old cottage up the fell this video was a very nice trip down memory lane for me. I thank you for that. If you are in this area again take a look a the slide in the rock opposite the school which has been used and worn down in the rock by generations of children who attended the school. Take care! and I hope soon you will be able to enjoy the open fells of the Lake District again.
