Fun fact: The water underwater in Spongebob actually makes sense, because there are pools that can form under the sea known as brine pools. However these pools consist of high salinity and low oxygen, so it would be too toxic to swim in (which the Spongebob residents did).

Another strange thing about cartoons is that when two or more people are fighting, a large cloud of dust will appear completely covering them unless their head and limbs poke out. And in reality, no cloud of dust will appear,even if two people are fighting in the world's sandiest pit. The most likely reason for this might be to obscure the view of the characters getting injured so as to not traumatize the children.

Also, how has Patrick got his own house without any apparent income? Speaking of income and bills, who's financing Dexter's lab in the show Dexter's Laboratory? And also the high electric bill from running all the lab equipment must make Dexter's parents suspicious of what might be going on, right? Flintstones - How could anyone living in prehistoric times live anything like the way Americans often did in the mid 20th century? Also, hominids existing at the same time as dinosaurs? Jimmy Neutron - How are the kids able to stay alive in outer space without spacesuits or other pressurization? Houses and other buildings in cartoons - Why do their layouts, etc often seem to change from episode to episode? Phineas and Ferb and others - How come the local building and zoning boards are almost never involved when characters like Phineas, Mr Krabs,, etc build batshit crazy structures in their yards? Fast recovery - It's rather strange that in episodes where characters get injured or sick, they're nearly always fully recovered again by the VERY NEXT EPISODE

Fire underwater. All you need is combustible gas, hydrogen, acetylene, oxygen gas, oxidize, waterproof casing and pyrotechnics. And since Bikini Bottom was a testing site facility for nukes, it would explain a lot of things, to why there are chemicals in the water that can cause everything to behave in the way it shouldn't.
