That's from one summer to remember. The catchy Cartoon Network summer song , the clip of it in the bumpers , " My Gym Partner's a Monkey ", I believe this is where " Squirrel Boy " premiered as well. Enjoying the TV , going out in the warm weather , and at the same time , my mother-in-law's house burned down and looked like an overcooked marshmallow over a camp fire. Yep , it's been a memorable summer alright. Cartoon Network being a part of it.

McCrillis Nsiah I agree with u. But I’ll be fair to u the fall era still has some variety here and there it’s not as bad as the noods era but it is the decline of Cartoon Network. The noods era was the worst era it had a lot of crappy teletoon shows, Crappy CN REAL. The only good shows that came out in the noods era is total drama(which is the only good teletoon show IMO) Chowder, and league of super evil and some other watchable shows. But most of them of shows that came out in the noods era like Johnny test, 6teen, Flapjack was terrible.

Summer 2007 was the last time CN was good before going downhill. I think people often overlook this era because of Fried dynamite, CCF was canceled, shows like Foster’s and KND were coming to an end, Tom 4 leading up to toonami’s cancellation in 2008, a few good shows like chowder, a lot of crap shows like skunk fu, George of the jungle, mr men, and chop socky chooks, out of Jimmy’s head, etc.

I liked summer 2009. Tbh 2009 is a very overhated year by many CN fans. It really wasn't as bad as people said it was. I still saw a good variety of shows on the channel, both old and new at the time. And CN Real wasn't that bad. It was only a small block on Wednesday nights that didn't even last a year. People act like it took over the entire channel. I even thought some of the shows were kinda interesting. I really miss CN in the late 2000s/early 2010s.

@@dingdongpaddiwack “ CN real wasn’t that bad” dude CN real was horrible, CN releasing no new cartoons in 2009 and instead releasing 10 live action shows, all the live action shows sucked except for DBD, as the rest of CN real like tower prep, hall of game, level up, and incredible crew are also crap. By 2010 CN remembered that they make cartoons but the damage has already been done. Many Cartoon creators have moved on and made shows for other companies and not having faith in some of their own original shows the network aired Johnny test all the damn time. Today I would say CN has learned a lesson from the live action shows from 2007-2014 but they suck ass because of low variety in show, the new look for boomerang, and losing the rights to Pokémon.

Like I previously said, I could tolerate the CN Real shows because they didn't air that much. I also didn't watch Toonami that much, so I wasn't affected that much by its loss. And even though shows like KND and Foster's ended around that time, they still had some reruns. And the shows at the time like Chowder and Flapjack were pretty good. I actually liked Skunk Fu and the Mr. Men Show. I hardly even remember Chop Socky Chooks, but it was alright. George of the Jungle was kinda ass tho ngl. And I don't remember Out of Jimmy's Head since it pretty much disappeared right around the time I started watching CN. Also, Johnny Test also didn't air that much compared to how TTG took over the channel, especially in 2017 when CN played the damn thing 24/7. And for your information, CN has not learned its lesson. It's literally bringing back live action shows and a fucking toddler block this year. If anything, CN has gotten much worse since the mid 2010s.

To be honest 2006 and 2007 weren't very good. The "Yes" era before this was the one that killed of the Cartoon Cartoon Fridays. Those annoying Fred Fred Burger and Cheese promos with the red background slowly replaced the CN City bumpers. The Summer of 2006 was inferior to the summer of 2005 (check out the CN City 2005 Summer opening video to see what i mean!). Crap shows like Squirrel Boy and mediocre Class of 3000 replaced the Life of Juniper Lee. George of the Jungle literally came out here in June of 2007! The best eras hands down where the Powerhouse (1998- early 2004) and CN City (Summer 2004-early 2006).

@@RockNRollSurf class of 3000 was alright. But I I think CN still would’ve gone downhill even if Samples was still president in 2007. Remember, most of the new shows Samples green lit during the city and yes era ( pet alien, squirrel boy, krypto, tickle U, juniper lee, gym partner etc) were really sloppy, when compared to the eairler hits like Ed Edd N Eddy, justice league, PI, Johnny bravo, billy and Mandy, samurai jack, or courage the cowardly dog. Plus in interviews he said that “ although CN will remain an animation channel their would be some live action on the way”. And then came Re-animated in December 2006 which became a tv show that he also greenlit, (he also greenlit the first Ben 10 live action movie to release later that year as well). Oh and Tom 4 was introduced in March 2007 ( meaning that Tom 4 was in development before Samples left, and CCF was facing ratings decline). So even though the dark ages began with Snyder in May 2007, CN was already starting to show signs of decay around the samples era between mid 2005-2006

@@joecool2987 To be fair, it's argued that 2005 was the last good and iconic year of Cartoon Network before the downfall. This year was the peak of the CN City bumpers that they showed, which were so entertaining that they could be classified as cartoon episodes themselves. Even though the older cartoons from the Powerhouse era were ended, shows like Johnny Bravo, Dexter, and Courage were still airing the episodes and were not forgotten. Even though technically Teen Titans, Kids Next Door, and Billy and Mandy premiered in the early 2000s, the majority of their episodes came out in the 2004-2006 period and Cartoon Network Friday's still was a main staple. There were very good shows like Ben 10, Hi Hi Puffi Ami Yumi, Juniper Lee, Fosters Home(2004), and Camp Lazlo that came out in 2005 which many thought would have led to a Cartoon Network Renaissance and lead to more iconic cartoons being created. The only bad show to come out this year was My Gym Partners a Monkey. The summer of 2006 is when Cartoon Network started going downhill when they introduced the "Yes" Era, but that was still not as bad as the 2007 "Fall" and 2008 "Noods" era. And to be honest, a few of the original Cartoons Cartoons kind of sucked. Those were Cow and Chicken (a poor man's Ren and Stimpy), Sheep in the Big City and Robot Jones ( very forgettable), and Mike, Lu, and Og (the theme song was a banger though!)

This is how I rate each of the eras: *Checkerboard Era(1992-1997)= (7.5) It's a good era, but honestly it was just a primitive Boomerang channel. Not part of the Golden Age *Starburst Era (1996-1997)=(7.0)Just a transition year. However this is where the famous Checkerboard logo and Dexter's Lab come from. The true beginning. The Industrial Era *Powerhouse Era(1998-spring 2004) =(9.4) The Golden Age. My favorite cartoons come from this era. Best cartoon schedule of them all. Best special events too. The Bumpers were great, but not the best. The first era I started watching Cartoon Network. *CN City Era (summer 2004-2005/early 2006)= (8.9) Either the Silver Age or the final chapters of the Golden Age. This is the only era that is on the S Tier alongside the Powerhouse Era. 2005 is the last pure and amazing year of classic Cartoon Network. The Bumpers were beautiful and the best ones of them all, even beating the Powerhouse. Great mix of classics with good new shows. Although I loved the Powerhouse era so much, the CN City is my personal favorite era. * Yes Era(summer 2006-spring 2007)= (6.2) This is basically a water downed inferior version of the CN City era. The true "What's happening?" Greatly dislike this era because this one gets confused with the CN City Chad era. 2006 is when the true beginning of the end happened, not 2004 or 2005 that older Millenials keep saying. My Gym Partners a Monkey true peak year. *Summer 2007 era= (6.0) First era to not have Cartoon Fridays. Dexter's Lab/Johnny Bravo reruns go extinct here. George of the Jungle. *Fall 2007 ( fall 2007- spring 2008)= (5.5) Only good thing to come out is Chowder and that catchy Rock and Roll song from the bumpers. The official start of the Dark Age. Death of many cartoons such as Billy and Mandy, Kids Next Door, and CN City 2005 cartoons *Noods Era (Summer 2008-spring 2010) = (6.5) Although this is the era that I hate the most, I have come to the conclusion that this era had better original cartoons than the 2006 Yes and 2007 Summer/Fall eras. 2009 however is still the darkest year in Cartoon Network's history (CN Real). *Check It (Summer 2010-Summer 2013)= (8.0) The third best era. Saved the network from destruction. However the Bumpers are garbage tier. This is an A tier era, not as good as the S Tier Powerhouse and CN City. Not a fan of Steven Universe or Teen Titans Go. I hate the calarts style which this era popularized

Tbh CN is really not looking good right now. All the Renaissance shows like Adventure Time, Regular Show, Gumball (it still gets reruns though), and Steven Universe (wasn't really into it), have already ended. All that's left are mediocre shows like Craig of the Creek, Apple & Onion, and Victor and Valentino. And don't even get me started on TTG and Dramarama. Those two are complete garbage. For me, CN has been going downhill since the mid 2010s.
