@@fullmetalandtheflame438 The confrontation between Neville and Mary in Act II, just before "Hold On," kinda made me wonder how exactly Neville was treated by his parents, particularly his father. Probably has a lot to do with why he's so emotionally closed off most of the time. I'm not making excuses for him, but that kind of abuse is, quite often, generational.

I just CANNOT get over the gorgeous shimmering dissonance they get on the "ee" vowel right at the end. You can tell it was planned by the extra time they give it, with both of them emphasizing the "pointy" overtones, followed by the resolution to such a resonant open vowel for the last note. Absolutely gorgeous tone control.

Strangely quiet, but now the storm Simply rests to strike again Standing, waiting, I think of her I think of her Strange, this Mary, she leaves the room Yet remains, she lingers on Something stirs me to think of her I think of her From death she casts her spell All night we hear her sighs And now a girl has come Who has her eyes She has her eyes The girl has Lily's hazel eyes Those eyes that saw him happy long ago Those eyes that gave him life And hope he'd never known How can he see the girl And miss those hazel eyes? She has her eyes The girl has Lily's hazel eyes Those eyes that closed and left me all alone Those eyes I feel will never ever let me go How can I see this girl who has her hazel eyes? In Lily's eyes a castle This house seemed to be And I, the bravest knight became My lady fair was she She has her eyes She has my Lily's hazel eyes Those eyes that loved my brother never me Those eyes that never saw me Never knew I longed to hold her close To live at last in Lily's eyes Imagine me, a lover I longed for the day She'd turn and see me standing there Would God have let her stay She has her eyes She has my Lily's hazel eyes Those eyes that saw me happy long ago (Those eyes that first I loved so) How can I now forget That once I dared to be in love Be alive and whole In Lily's eyes, in Lily's eyes

@jessaminegreer80187 жыл бұрын
Those are the scores - I think they were just more concerned with making sure the cast knew the music than they were with it looking good. Really the only thing about this show that I didn't like, because it's distracting. :/
@thomasmneff7 жыл бұрын
In a concert staging (which this was) the performers sit in chairs on stage and carry the score. Blocking, scenery, lights and props are minimal, and the orchestra is usually onstage rather than in a pit. That's the custom, even though the principals are nearly always "off book." The idea is that the music is the focus, not the spectacle, and you can mount some amazing shows without the investment for a full production. The Encores! series at City Center has been doing this for many years, and some great shows (like Chicago) have been (re)born to full Broadway productions as a result.
@NOONE-cd4gu5 жыл бұрын
Omg like a dumbass i thought it had a special meaning for the plot/story and couldnt explain it even tho i had read the book and googled it. Im so stupid lol. I never thought that they would carry the score around on stage

Ok Cheyenne is giving a half ass performance here...first of all completely miscast...wooden and disconnected from his character...weak vocally here, very soft and lazy sounding...No inner conflict...and standing with his arms crossed why would a stage actor stand like that clenching a book brought a song and standing like a choir boy...he closes us off from him by crossing his arms and it’s a vocally weak performance.
@NOONE-cd4gu5 жыл бұрын
Did u maybe even think that the director and choreographer told him to do that-_- ??? Or do u just go ahead insulting. They are actord . On stage and should follow what the others say
@milliesee48144 жыл бұрын
Not to mention. They had ONE WEEK to put this show together. Cheyenne sounds wonderful. I’ve watched this over a million times. And I am classically trained. His motivation is Lily never loved him. He can be portrayed as mopey. He’s an actor. I can almost guarantee as a musical theatre actress myself. He’s doing exactly what the the director said.
