The early pages of deathmate red vs the later pages is like watching an HDTV and then having that swapped out by a 1987 32" Toshiba television

If you haven't already, I'd love to see you cover Alan Moore's extreme stuff - Supreme, Judgement Day, and Youngblood. Supreme had those awesome retro Rick Veitch segments, Judgement Day literally re-worked all of Rob's characters (I think Gil Kane did some of the art) and I personally thought Alan's Youngblood kicked ass, although it only lasted a few issues.

Can confirm: as a kid, I definitely knew there was a difference between the two parts of Deathmate Red, but I chalked it up to the creators rushing to finish, as this entire series was completely disjointed by the constant delays. Black was by far my favorite of the event. Great content, as always 👍

I remember as a kid getting Deathmate Red and Youngblood #6 on the same day after waiting through Rob's hiatus after #5. The leap in coloring was unreal, people at the time always praised Malibu for having the best colors but what going on at Extreme couldn't be touched.

Oof, I’ve seen badly drawn 90s comics but this takes the cake and any crumbs laying around.

I recall being so insulted XO Manowar was so easily dismissed. Bart Sears was among only a few sexy artists for Valiant, and seeing a Lee version of a barbarian in an alien suit of armor? Sign me up.

My pages were Grifter sneaking around a forest, meeting Zealot, she goes to make out with him after they briefly spar. Before their lips touch Grifter wakes up from a dream on the Wildcats jet where he was catching some shuteye before a mission, Zealot gives him a quizzical look, Grifter avoids making eye contact with her.

I was just thinking about this specific issue a few days ago and how it will be cool when CK go through it one day. That day came quick!

I think the tanks on the parade page are lifted from an old BattleTech rulebook, of all things.

This is kind of a proto House of X or FLashpoint. I can see the difference in the color and the line weight.

There is a huge difference in those colors! It’s pretty hilarious (and deeply uncool) that Leifeld did that.

Definitely not a fan of Liefeld art work. But I love some of the Image comics back then like Mcfarlane and Jim Lee.. Really appreciate them for taking a chance on there own books.

The color differences aren't subtle at all...it's so obvious superior talent is working in the first fourth of the comic...not sure why that's even a discusssion?!
