The Absolute Editions of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen vols 1 and 2 have the complete Moore scripts of those series, even with prelim sketches by Kevin O'Neill, in case you didn't know!

I used to have a copy of the script for Big Numbers #3. It was largely a letter to Bill about various things with a story and panel descriptions added in. Very interesting and almost conversational. Wonderful stuff.

My memory is a bit foggy, since it was 20 years ago, but I spoke to Jaime Hernandez about working with Alan Moore and (HEAVILY PARAPHRASED) he commented on the extent and detail that Moore went to with his scripts and made it seem like it was a bit of a puzzle to draw a panel that hits all of his asks.

Dc has a collection of 3 Deluxe editions of Promethea and I know for certain that the first Promethea deluxe edition has scripts for the 3rd issue I believe…. It’s awesome reading his scripts. Alan Moore cracks me up

I think I remember some script material in the back of a LoEG collection. I remember reading some insanely long description about how the surface of mars was supposed to look like followed by his signature "Or do whatever you feel like" to Kevin O'Neil.

If any of you have trouble finding the Compleat Scripts, The From Hell Companion also has a bunch of script pages. They're not complete chapters but there are page selections all the way through Chapter 14

I wonder if Moore was kind of looking at his writing as spellcasting even back then.

I haven’t read From Hell, but I do enjoy sitting down with my favorite comic book uncles to pour over comics materials. That story about drawing the penguins reminds me of Neil Gaiman putting a flying ship in Stardust to give his artist something cool to illustrate. He talked once about how he was on the set for the movie adaption and watching people working on the giant ship they had to build for the movie. He felt bad because that ship wasn’t likely to get used beyond the movie.
