Interesting to hear Ed talk about Murderer/Fugitive, as those were my sort of first events when getting into comics. And I always got the sense on re-reads that the story ran longer than the writers wanted, seeing as Rucka and Brubaker’s books practically dropped the story while the other Bat books continued the story

This man gave Marvel the shot in the arm it needed late 2000s. Of course, his creator owned work is phenomenal.

What a great dude! Love this man’s comics, normally I go for the artist name to decide what to read but would never skip over a Brubaker joint cause the writing is next level! Loved his frankness on a few questions too dude gives 0 shits, hope you guys get him back sounds like he wants to join the crew, he could be the new Tom Scioli (only virtually) let’s get the Kayfabe family growing, become the Wu Tang Clan of comics fandom/criticism!!

Brubaker is one of the best Batman writers of all time, and I don't think people give him the respect he deserves in this title. Sure his work wasn't as long or redefining as his Captain America run, but Gotham GCPD and Bruce Wayne Murder and Fugitive are classics imo. Also some of his shorter stories are tight too. The Man Who Laughs is a great example.

Sweet, Piskor is a White Sox fan! I knew I like him. Big fan of Brubaker of course-love his back page notes in single issues where he recommends old films, books and TV shows. Been turned on to many great things from him, not to mention the amazing Criminal material!

Winsor McCay "Anatomy" book?!!.. Is that a thing? Never heard of it. Is he thinking Burne Hogarth?
@brianjones87212 жыл бұрын
If McCay ever did an Anatomy book I have not seen it, and I thought I owned just about everything ever published by or about McCay, at least in the last 50-60 years. I think you are correct, he must be thinking of Hogarth.

Keep on writing newsletters even if it's a lot of work... especially if it's not only designed to sell something, although that is fine too because it let you know what's happening on comic market :D

Maaaaan it would be so great if ya’ll could nail down a Neal Adams shoot. Id love to see yalls chemistry and I could listen to him talk for days.
@vincentbatten46862 жыл бұрын
I kept thinking to myself but he's been dead for awhile now, but it was right around the time you made this comment. These last two years have blended together so much. Adams was quite a dude. I walked by one of his booths around 2016 and I just watched Neal tending his booth and people would walk up occasionally. I couldn't afford any of his books, so I didn't want to waste his time. I felt like an asshole when I went up and told him I admired his work but didn't buy anything. He revolutionized things for sure though.
