The art of Batman vs Predator II is amazing. Terry Austin inking elevated the drawing. You guys need to do an episode about inkers.

Love Chris Warner's stuff. Always wanted to ink his pencils. The Predator stuff is great, but I like The American even better. Black Cross too... always reminded me of Stallone's Cobra.

Back in 06 a art book of Predator and Alien comics came out and one of the covers that were insane to me was one that was a great photo of a piece of pottery someone made involving predator.

Guys! This is eerie! Literally read this comic this morning! Haven’t read it for many years..... Recently you seem to be completely aligned with my re-readings. A perfect day....first read the comic and then Cartoonist Kayfabe to fill in the blanks.....amazing! Chris Warner is king! I would love to see him doing more Black Cross! That comic really resonated with me :) Really looking forward to your next installment!

OMG I had no idea this story was a comic! I read the novelization and I thought it was an original story.

You guys need to do the Aliens vs Predator mini-series- quite simply one of the finest comics ever produced.

Damn. I can smell the paper emitting from this video. Takes me back! Predator #3 was my first introduction into the indy comic franchise as well as Chris Warner's work when I visited my first ever local comic store (most was bought from liquor stores and markets). Holy shit, did his work completely blow my mind and became a huge fan afterwards. Not to mention Chris jumping over to the Terminator series after this confirmed to us that he was able to illustrate what we all thought was impossible once again. He truly belongs up there with the other comic illustration greats, hands down.

I love this miniseries. First time I read it was when I got the 30th anniversary Predator hardcover from Dark Horse a few years ago. I was always watching Predator on tv as a kid in the 80s, it’s still a favorite movie of mine.

Did they use that cover of the Predator standing on a building for a shot in Predator 2? It seems like i remember a shot like that in the movie.

I first became aware of Dark Horse in High school. A guy (Monty Sheldon) that graduated earlier than me had gone on to the Kubert school then wound up at Dark Horse working as a production artist during their early days. I think he quit shortly after computers became a part of pre-press (?) He brought some copies of Dark Horse Presents in to show me after my art teacher tipped him off that I was really interested in illustration and comics. They would do some touch up sometimes on the licensed stuff along with the usual paste-up, etc.

This is perfect. I remember these Predator books as my first stuff I checked out after Image, and I remember buying this first miniseries at a convention. Great stuff.

Just a heads up but Dark Horse re-released this story, Cold War and their Predator 2 adaptation in one "Predator Essential Comics Vol 1" that's a really nice book for $25. Also, they are re-printing the "Aliens Vs. Predator Vol 1" this month too for the same $25. Both obviously feature Mr. Warner's excellent artwork among others.

hey please do one about the b/w Aliens vol one by Verheiden and Nelson? Didn't he use some specific early computer drawing technique I think he mentions it in forward of the reissue hardcover

That MAD Predator parody took me back! Read that before I ever saw the movie, same with the Aliens MAD parody.

the storyline for the comic would really make a great Predator movie especially getting all the gangs & cops together to fight off Predators in the heat of the city

Cracked in the late 80s had a really hip editor who hired a ton of cool cartoonists. Dan Clowes and Peter Bagge did a bunch of strips for Cracked in that era. That's where I first saw Clowe's art.
