Love hearing you guys laugh about this comic that meant everything to me when I was ten years old. I’ll miss hearing you guys talk with each other.

Thanks for the laughs,guys! LMAO! I read Pitt for 4 to 6 issues but dropped it because of the extreme cliches! I met Dale in Toronto 1991, enjoyed his HULK run! Dale back then went to my grandfather’s junkyard in Peace River,Alberta! Hell of a coincidence! Pit needed a writer because violent carnage artwork can only get so far! Thanks again! Keep making/reading more comix!

That first issue is exquisite. Its a shame Keown went on holiday for months after his earnings from the first issue and we didnt get issue 2 until a year later.

According to Dale Keown, Pitt may be back through crowdfunding. Fingers crossed.

It's awesome that you mention Aircel Comics. Warlock 5 was my introduction to black and white comics in the 80's. I loved it and have always wondered what happened to some of the artists working on their books.

i was a big fan of keowns hulk and i picked up pitt 1 without hesitation and wanted to like it but it suffered from the image problem of lateness after several months of no pitt 2 i ended up not continuing with the series. hes currently working on an indie book called salamandroid from ethan van scivers cyberfrog universe, and might crowdfund a pitt omnibus after that. im pretty excited to be honest about both projects.

I also liked Union and Tex's art style back then similar to his Wolverine style. So different from his style in Knighted.

Pitt # 2s cover drew me back into comics as a teenager...and the search for #1 was my first super dork payoff. I still have most of the single issues.
@darrengregson54213 жыл бұрын
If my memory serves me correctly, the line work in the ashcan of issue #1 is cleaner and sharper. It reveals just how heavy the ink was in the final printed comic.
@roidvoid3 жыл бұрын
That bad printing on that page with overprinted lettering is because of 4 color blacks. There should only be k only in black lettering so that registration isn't an issue. I would love to have you guys visit our print shop. Would be a fun video.

'Milk run...' was originally slang for the trip from Chicago to New York, so it isn't out of place here.

Yeah, that would of been cool to see the biker gang's 'big guy' in a flannel and then Pitt takes it and its like still 5 sizes too small. Good ideas you guys.

Funny i just read this digitally a few days ago. Wanted to check it out because of Pitt's appearance in The Maxx ( which I got into some months ago and love it! Sam Kieth is great!) . Also am a huge Hulk fan and really liked Dale Keown's and Peter David's partnership. This should be a fun watch.

The first 7 or so issues of PITT are kind of a wash- they're intermittently interesting purely for art reasons, but the actual story is beyond uninteresting. But then issue 8... the one with the werewolf girl who shows up outta nowhere... that's where the series finally clicks. After that, you get a couple issues where Steve Gerber comes in and does some writing, which helps immensely, and the stories just start getting weirder. I can't wait for PITT's return. I'm sure Dale would be glad to talk to you guys to spread the word about it.

I must have been an idiot 20 year old. You guys gleaned more of the story, and I think I had the first 8 or 9 issues and the crossovers up till 2003

It's so weird remembering my teenage comic books years through these videos. Did I think Spawn and Pitt were cool? Yup! Do I cringe at this fact now? Yup! Really only The Maxx holds up for me, in that it was so ahead of the curve. It has that expansive storytelling and layers to it, which one would expect more from Sandman or Watchmen than anything from Image at that time. The Maxx is an unreliable narrator, it has moments of genuine psychological trauma, a dark, cartoonish sense of humor, but also weirdly human in how the main characters are treated. It's not being dark for darkness sake, nor was it just an excuse for cool battle poses.

Did all of Image comics creators basically make an "extreme" version of the titles they worked on with Marvel and DC?
@theartofSkinner3 жыл бұрын
The printing and coloring in this first issue is super dark. Muddy and stuff.
