One of my all time favorite movies. My family and I still sing Big and Loud to eachother and say "shut up, max"

"I think the line drawings with minimal detail are a *huge* help for broad animation." There are so many anime fans I would love to throw this quote at haha This was a fun video! I used to love this film as a kid, and I really want to rewatch it.

Thank you so much for making these. I'm obsessed with animation and I love learning about the nitty gritty details son these are great. I'm always excited when I see your videos in my subscription list. Keep 'em coming! Also, I was hoping you would talk more about Cats Don't dance in the context of classic Warner Bros animation. When I watch the film, I always feel like it was the last great Looney Tunes short or something. Thanks!

Thank you for this video. I'm working on some simple animation exercises, eventually building up to character animation. Your video gave me a good idea how to study and reference animation.

Are you filming this from Heaven? It's really bright! Haha. But anyway, I've always wished I liked this movie more than I did. The animation and design is spectacular, and I love the nods to old Hollywood. But the story is so predictable and the characters aren't really that interesting. It had so much going for it, but it just didn't deliver. It's a shame.

Marc Hendry Ah. Mine has a manual mode where you can control the exposure through aperture and ISO. I'd suggest seeing if yours does too. I shot a whole short film with it and you would never even know it wasn't a regular camcorder.

I really enjoy the animation of Darla in this movie. To me, that alone is worth the price of admission.

Steven Bowser Had I been old enough to pay my own ticket at the time, I'd agree. But I saw it a few years ago on a vhs I bought for 50 cents. I guess it was worth it.

I don't believe I've heard of this movie before, though it looks amazingly familiar. You're right about the sticking to tradition. I do have to criticize the beginning of this epiosde, as it felt like we were thrown in the deep-end without much context. I understand you expect us to be savvy, but it could have done with some build-up before getting straight into the theory. good on you for interviewing animators though. Great insights.

In one scene shown in the review, The collar on Danny's shirt gets caught on the huge black wire and his clothes got stuck, the wire pulls Danny's shirt and vest off but how was it able to pull off his pants too? In my mind, I think the shirt and vest would've been able to pull off, but his pants stay on, but they do it as the wire pulls Danny's shirt, vest, and pants off leaving him in only his boxers

Maybe someone in the animating process might have wanted Danny in boxers, so Bob was their uncle, they did it that way, and it was inked and painted for the film.

One of my favorite scenes is shown here, when Danny's clothes come off leaving on only his boxers. Why do you think the people who made this movie wanted that to happen? That had to be Danny's most embarrassing moment in the whole movie.
