Nin and I had a blast playing this co-op. She hadn't grown up with the 90's turtles like I did, but still felt excited to play each next level. It's such an affectionate nod to the original series that I spent most of the game smiling and realizing how much I'd missed the characters 😄

Fun Fact: Krang’s Android Body was used in the final episode of TMNT. It was used to battle a super powered Dregg. The turtles active the self destruct sequence and have it cling onto Dregg as they both enter into a portal. Might be the reason why the Foot Clan are salvaging pieces of Krang’s android body throughout the game.

So far it just might be. I'd love if this game spawned a series of similar classic licensed arcade game revivals. Like a new X-Men beat em up game, or even a sequel to the Simpsons arcade game. Those four player cabinets were sick.

Shredder's Revenge was so much fun, no matter how many times I replay it. It remind me so much of the 1989 arcade game that I played as a kid, and as a teenager when it was on Xbox Live on the 360.

The TMNT series I'm most familiar with is the 2003 series, at least that still has some pretty solid games.

I've only played a few turtles game including the very first on the NES. For a game that saved the system in the UK, it's Crash 1 levels of dire. Be prepared for the ridiculous jank and bad design if you eventually cover the Pre-Nick Turtles games. I might give this game a shot. Looks fun and interesting, despite generally not caring for beat 'em ups outside of the Streets of Rage games.

Cool game. It's like a renaissance of beat 'em up games. At a recent steam festival, I played the demo of another potentially good game - Arnold Bounty Hunter. It looks more like the first Battletoads - there are not only fights, but also various adventures with platforming, hydrocycles. It also looks interesting.

Hey, not sure if you're aware of this, but the Chrome Dome fight can be hurried up by throwing foot clan at his windshield (Grab + down + attack), immediately brings him back down to the arena and vulnerable, makes the fight far less tedious. Throw me a few upvotes for visibility, if you don't mind, people

Just played through the story mode with some mates and we all had a blast. I played the TMNT movie game for the GBA way back when and it was also pretty good (the PS2 version sucked though) so I'm looking forward to trying the Scott Pilgrim game next.

One advise about your future review of Nicktoons United on Ds. In order to beat Planktoon, you have to use Timmy Turner to run to the boss and attack with Danny Phantom. A lot of people didn't finish the game because of that boss. It is the only version that I like, an great 3d platform but this boss was really dificult to know how to solve it.

It's my favorite game of 2022 so far. There's also Elden Ring but that's a completely different beast. I love it but it's also a massive pain in the ass at times. This game was just fun and good times.

I can’t in good conscience say it was a better game than Elden Ring, or even Forbidden West for that matter, but I will say it’s definitely on my GOTY short list and is probably the best of the recent beat ‘em up revival.

TMNT SR is a cute, stylistically accurate nod to the classic turtles I grew up on, but SoR4 is a far superior beat 'em up game. I'm not sure why there's so much hype for this game. It's definitely not a bad game, but the novelty has already worn off before the end of the story mode. I played SoR4 for 100s of hours and will still pick it over TMNT when it's time to go hard on a beat 'em up.
