Marking the 30th anniversary of Caruso St John, whose work is engaged with the specific conditions of each project and is characterised by a formal diversity that emerges out of the potential of construction, Nana Biamah-Ofosu and Ellis Woodman host an evening of reflection with the founding partners, Adam Caruso and Peter St John. They are joined by current collaborators, Tibor Bielicky, Lorenzo Iandelli, Adriana Müller, Eva Janusch and Michael Schneider, to revisit a project from the past, and one currently being built.
The first project is the House in Lincolnshire (1994) which was the first completely new structure that the practice designed. The second, the Swiss Life Arena (to be completed in 2022) represents a new scale of project for the practice. The in situ concrete exposed shell of the building is currently under construction in Zurich. The practice has made special films that present each project.

I think they understood the real value of nonsense in architecture, not the purely parametric one. The typological translation, however, does not actually contemplate the neo-classical villa and the burnt concrete with semi-folded bronze columns do not determine a value other than that of the nonsense that actually permeates this situation. I love this team of architects because they perceive the idea and the process of generating typical and traditional forms which, however, do not take on any meaning without any sense, they are full but tend to make the neoclassical dialogue in a villa. They pose themselves as questions in themselves
