They will position it against Creata and Grand Vitara. Actually Curvv didn't meet their expectations so for that reason they had to downsize the Sierra to compete on that segment. Tata doesn't have any cars on the Creata and Grand Vitara segment. Later if they think they can make a Sierra XL which can be positioned at the top of Safari just like Mahindra did with their thar with roxx. The main tension is the diesel engine.

Whatever Tata expected from Curvv, its doing exactly that. Tata since the start has been saying that they'll only produce 50k units of Curvv, thats 4-5k units per month, which Curvv is maintaining consistently. Its the value maximisation from Nexon. Combined, Nexon and Curvv sells around 18-20k units which has become huge money spinner for Tata. Sierra has always been conceptualized as a 4.3m car. It wont go above Safari. Safari will be the flagship.

The word beast is used to refer to cars using powerful engines or electric motors nowadays regardless of the appearance, which I'm assuming you're using the word due to this reason. No other company in India offers close to 400 Nm torque other than Mahindra at the price you're expecting. As for the power, what are you smoking? Those numbers will easily take the car above 70-75 lakhs at which point the product was already lost. Take a look at the range of cars at that pricepoint. As for the 4x4, Tata doesn't have a platform for it. It could be AWD, two completely different things. Adding power to all 4 wheels easily makes it more expensive. You're just mentioning your wishes rather than realistic expectations. All these makes the term potential obsolete.

For the people who live in NCR If this SUV comes with 1. Petrol engine with decent power, mileage and refinement. 2. 4*4 with good approach, departure and rampover angles. 3. Ample space in boot Then me as well as many others that I know of will just close our eyes and go buy this vehicle without a second thought. 11:48 here you are wrong dude Diesel is already confirmed for Sierra which will be the new 2.0 Kryojet Diesel engine because my father is in tata motors at Engine shop dept and he told that in Fridays meeting they got the training for new diesel engine because in his dept only Diesel engines are made and during the meeting the engineers who were giving the training told them that Sierra is the new focus for this dept because of new Diesel engine so i can confirm 100% that Diesel is there for this vehicle too and not only this Tata Motors Cheif of Marketing and Sales Mr. Vivek Srivastva aslo confirmed in Auto Expo 2025 interview with some journalist that Diesel is there for this SUV so that customers will get wide range of options and they are going to create a new segmet so it will not fit between any tata car it will directly create a new segment that's all.
