I have this amp with a vintage 30 speaker and love the sounds I can get from the amp. Big plus, made in the USA.

Hey just got mine fixed today! Can you let me know the song you started playing when you switched to overdrive? Sounded like RL burnside I loved that.

Sounds really good I want to get one! Also, where did you learn to play like that? I really want to learn that blues style and jazz....Sounds awesome. I've been playing a little over 20 years but mostly post-punk/hardcore , experimental rock, some blues and had some intros to Jazz chord progressions and studied a bit of music theory when I was in my late teens and early college but have wrapped my head around it completely
@Dr_mvks2 жыл бұрын
I’m really glad you enjoyed the playing! Thanks for the kind words, it means a lot to me. I am completely self taught and I basically learned everything about guitar on youtube. I also had Piano lessons when I was much younger so I think it was a bit easier to connect the musical dots. There are a ton of videos out there that talk about theory and all that, but my first recommendation would be to start listening to blues/jazz a lot more and develop a good ear. After you start hearing all those melodies, rhythms and chord progressions over and over again, it will just start to make sense. It’s kind of like taking vitamins. I learned everything by ear and visually watching live recordings of other musicians, and then used my knowledge of theory to make it understandable in some way. My biggest influence is from the early recordings by the Allman brothers Band (1969-1971), specifically the Live from the Fillmore East recordings. They’re a blues based band that intertwine so many musical genres like RnB jazz funk and soul music together, which ended up broadening my horizons drastically. The first song I played is “my baby please don’t go” by Lightning Hopkins, the second song is “I’ve grown accustomed to her face” rendition by Wes Montgomery, the one after that is a version of “blue moon of kentucky” influenced by Scotty Moore and Chet Atkins that I came up with and the last one is “Lookin Good” by Magic Sam that goes into the solo and the main riff of “you don’t love me” by the allman brothers. I’m basically just “stealing” from my influences, but that’s how music works. You take things you like from others and then make it your own. If you enjoyed the stuff I played then I would suggest you start digging there! I’m 26 years old now and started playing guitar when I was 18 so believe me, if I can do it, you can to!!

Showed up for the tones and had to stay for the playing. Holy cow - demos don't usually inspire me to play, but you are absolutely wrecking it here! And great samples of the different uses for the amp. It definitely nails an older clean tone and some compressed overdriven tones...what are your thoughts on it going a bit heavier...like Sabbath? Does the low end get woofy and the drive muffled?
@Dr_mvks Жыл бұрын
Wow, thank you for the kind words! You can absolutely take it to sabbath territory without it getting too muddy.

If you hear that buzz golden rule you are ti close to it . I know it's hard you to move bit change volume and seting on amp .. bit most of the buzz die down . If you turn up you might need spet way long . If you got single coil, there is a buzz & 60 hum add in Use good Noise gate. . Today play play close to amp its eazy when guitar amp are close there Circle field feed back Just get back it's get softer Depends on amp maker some amp have lot of Background noise some are less background noise. What I hear carvin amp really made well top Notch Components and well-designed . Some it your guitar to were it made you might love your guitar it's cheap one but way it wire up come in play theatre eazy fit to do rewiring it . On amp old style tube Transformer amp yes beautiful one noise one fact you will learn were to stand went playing you fine it's sweet spot it funny thing about 2 meter off left Centre it sounds great less hum & buzz . You fine your spot it's different every play Compromise That amp nice sound amp I seen one for sell for $600 . But I have changed my way amp got hybrid with bluamp 1 Mercury small lite it nails the sound and feel like big amp it use Micro tube in power amp side it's all analog front end other amp is quilter block 200 old one use revolt preamp that nice amp too quilter really good too But my choice out two bluamp 1 Hybrid analog amp kills those digital fx axe line 6 in water that good in different way ,but my got power amp out run speaker @100 watt. Eazy turn down to quite a guitar tone .
