It kills me to see Carvin's product line is so slim today. This head was the most affordable head around for several years and not only that but designed and made in the USA! *I have regretted not buying one for many years now that every brand out there is well over $1000 for an all tube head.*

when you do a demo of an amp it helps to be as good as the gentleman, great demo sir

Best tones i have heard in a V3 demo!!! Like some of the other guys have said: can't make out the knobs. Hook a brother up and show us, please!
@ddg87957 жыл бұрын
Man I love my V3, on the gain channel i would turn the presence down completely and then dial in my bass knob to be just before it gets flubby. I usually use the center mode, then start rolling the highs up. Between 6 and 7 on the dial you will here the amp open up for lack of a better word. Gain usually on 6 or 7. Really cool amps

ddg8795 yeah the tone stack is an odd one, definitely a case of using your ears rather then your eyes to eq it.

Nice demo. Wish I could see the knobs more clearly to see what settings you're changing to though.

People always called this amp buzzy, sounds like every other "metal" amp to me🤷♂️ think I'll pick one up
@Person-cv9dj3 жыл бұрын
I wish it sounded a little gainier and less sratchy
@jgmopar2 жыл бұрын
I don't think they are buzzy. I compared my V3M to my 6505+ and the Distortion sounded better on the Carvin.
@neepathius7 Жыл бұрын
a lot of these players in the forums always say its only okay for metal but sucks everywhere else. makes u wonder if the acusers r actually the ones that suck.. 😆

good beautiful amp thank you so much

Top examples Leon! Great playing too. Shame I can't see the knob positions, the chrome knobs make hard. Any chance when if you get time you could do it again with a close up of the knobs? I know it's a big ask but I would love to use those tones you pulled out of it. Your a legend! 😀
@SlyMan4206 жыл бұрын
That's exactly why I swapped all the knobs out on my Carvin. Now I've got black knobs with a white line, can see it from across the room!

Hi! can you post some your V3 setting for hard and classic rock?
@mrbaboune17 жыл бұрын
i change the tubes for 6l6 and rebias it on mine , no more fizz ,a brand new beast
@LeonTodd7 жыл бұрын
francois bourgault how did you bias it? I can't remember if it has external bias points.
@mrbaboune17 жыл бұрын
there is no external bias point , it s Inside. Go to eurotubes Websit , there is a video showing how it s done
@nealixd.30115 жыл бұрын
So you changed to 6L6? What power tubes did it have?
@DanSGSPIKEIlges3 жыл бұрын
Channel one and two are DEFINITELY not identical ones more of modern rock/metal tone and the other is much more classic rock and metal if you use the same settings. I love my V3 and those channels I use them both for different stuff because of the sound difference. Though my amp also sounds a lot more punchy as the tubes have been swapped out and rebiased to the same exact tubes in the 6505 Plus and man does it destroy any 6505 I've heard especially on the clean

Problem with this demo is not enough lead guitar stuff. Listening to "chunk chunk chunk for 4:31 seconds was a bit toooooo long. We get it. 27 seconds of lead stuff ... not enough.
@LeonTodd6 жыл бұрын
Believe it or not you're the first person who's ever requested more lead stuff. I'll have to pull this amp out again just to wail on!

Hey I just got this I thave the 2 toggles all the way to right on the master does this mean that there is no reverb on the amp any input would be appreciated
@LeonTodd7 жыл бұрын
The amp doesn't have reverb. The two toggles in the master section control the effects loops.
@ericscholidon77457 жыл бұрын
Cool thanks I thought I heard some on it but must have been my imagination or some wired feedback

Do you recommend a specific speaker can or tube set mine blew a tube the 2nd time I turned on had jj 6l6gc tubes and 2 jj ecc83s tubes in v1-2 and the. Marshall ecc83 tubes in the remaining
@larry45814 жыл бұрын
I owned the V3, and try as I might, I could never get the overdrive channels to sound good. There is a weird, ear fatigue causing midrange that can't be dialed out. Good clean channel and one of the best FX loops I have ever used though. Today I use a JVM410HJS mainly. A near perfect amp IMHO. I have a 5150 iii and Jet City 50H as backups. Great amps but both have crap FX loops.

oh no is this the amp from the forums that everyone said sucks?.. haha just bought one today from arcadia, ca.. i swear these people on these forums are ALWAYS tone deaf.. they hated jcm 2000 then all of a sudden they went up in value, crate blue voodoos(although price stayed the same got way higher respect now), kranks.. etc theres some truth sometimes to what they say but i almost NEVER pay attention to how they feel about tone.

It there a way to make the high gain less muddy or more tight

59 LesPaul a tubescreamer worth drive on 0 and level 10 in front of the amp is my go to tightener for amps like this.
@areskochendorfer78577 жыл бұрын
Leon Todd cool can it get Metallica tones
@LeonTodd7 жыл бұрын
It has a post preamp active EQ (the bright/cut/deep controls) that let you radically cut the mids and boost the highs and lows in a way that could definitely get you close to the classic Metallica Mesa Mark 2C+ sounds. A guitar with active EMG pickups helps a lot in that regards too.
@MensaCramps6 жыл бұрын
I would suggest changing the Power tubes to 6L6 as well.

I put the high gain set of JJ 6L6's from Eurotubes in my and it sounds great
