Carving a Home from the Rocks: Modern Architecture Design in the California Desert

I love the frameless windows and I understand the desire to create a strong contrast between the bright landscape and the dark interior. It's beautiful. But... why is the exterior of the building black? That's not to my taste at least. I would have preferred the exterior colour to blend the building with the landscape.

I have an older house with the walls dark also, what it does is draw your attention outside all the time and believe me it's a very calming space to live in.
