2 things 1. This looks amazing and you must have alot of talent 2. i was going to get into woodcarving but i dont have a knife, my dad owns alot of chisels and stuff. Is there anything i could use as a substitute?

Thank you so much! Not sure if it's talent, I just think it's a lot of practice :) You can carve with chisels, sure. It is quite a different method though. I do use a flat chisel quite a lot in my carvings

Thank you! You don't need many tools in the beginning. Search for a detail whittling knife, they are great for small to medium projects. Just don't go for the cheapest one, because their quality will be disappointing. Also, don't forget that you need to maintain your blade too. Carvers usually use a leather strop and some green compound with it.
