Hi. What did you use to bring out the black on the slate. I have a old house sign that's lost its colour so I would love to bring out its shine again

Hi, so after trying all different products on the market over the years one day I was picking up some slate from a quarry and asked the same question to a mason there and they said olive oil and I have never looked back. Make sure your slate is clean and fully dry then build up 2 layers rubbing it in well with a soft cloth then a buff at the end and you should be good. 👍👍

Hello, what type of paint are you yusing for the upper black layer?

Hi Rik, the number 7 itself is painted with white Hammerite, and the darker Colour is the natural slate. I hope this helps
