Thank you for this video. Can I ask what kind of wood you use for your spoons? I'm a total beginner and have tried with green Birch wood, but it is too fibrous and my knives, not being sharp enough, struggle a lot both in roughing and in the detail work. Great video! I’m just getting into carving and having a hard time with using the outdoor hatchet I use while backpacking. May I ask what kind you’re using or maybe what kind that similar to look for in a new one? Is that what’s called a “bearded hatchet”? Thank you

This is the Gransfors Bruks Swedish Carving Axe. When I started carving I used a husqvarna hatchet that I found on Amazon which worked well. As long as it's sharp, it will work, but having the larger blade definitely helps.
