if you peep my icon on here this is a pumpkin "carving" i did a few years back of Tomie from junji ito's manga. i didn't look up tutorials or anything i just decided to shave the outside and inside of the pumpkin so i could "carve" a pumpkin that wasn't just face holes. im not an artist by any means but i still love how it turned out. it was fun but tiring because you have to shave a lot of the pumpkin off inside to get any light to come through. i used this weird tool from a clay tool kit. it looks like a vegetable peeler kind of? or a T shape really but it worked really good and it was a cheap set to get. it took between 2 and 4 hours to make. can't remember exact time but i know it was atleast 2 hours with no experience. ive always been creative but im also really slow and work meticulously. you'll get your item and it'll be beyond perfection but it'll just take a year or 2 for you to get it lol. i always loved carving pumpkins. oh also you have to remember you only get one shot at it too, you can't make mistakes. not unless you get a lot of pumpkins. i'd feel so bad wasting those pumpkins though because what are you gunna do with em if you dont have farm animals for them to play with the pumpkins?? just toss em in the garbage when they're still fresh?! atleast take the seeds and bake em to make healthy snacks. my mom used to make this really good pumpkin soup. see there are pumpkins you carve and then tinier pumpkins for eating. it was such a good soup, it had dough balls in it almost like a matza ball soup or chicken and dumpling stew. lmao im laughing so hard at how everyones just became a hole because they dont understand yet how to slice out the outlines yet.
