For what it's worth, the M340i can beat the M4 in a quarter-mile. AWD makes a HUGE difference. BMW says it's making 374hp but it's probably more like >410hp. From looking at carwow's other videos... 12.3 - M340i sedan/saloon (12.4 wagon/estate) 12.3 - M4 (ranged from 12.3 to 12.5) 12.6 - M5 (F10) 12.6 - C63 AMG (W204 coupe) 12.7 - RC-F Track Edition 12.7 - M6 (coupe) 12.8 - Mercedes-AMG C63S coupe (yes, the newest one) 12.8 - M5 (E60) 13.0 - M3 (E90)

In the race I’ve just watched you have performance estate cars. What does it look like as these two cars against the equivalent suvs? Salons against estates and suvs maybe.. a three way race. Perhaps not just a straight line run but also around a track. Straight up family style (suv) racing. I suspect there will be very little in it and the myth that an SUV is a compromise will be busted wide open. Let’s see it😁
