I love how the GT-R is considered analog. When it came out everyone called it a computer on wheels. Really shows the foundation the GT-R paved. A car ahead of its time that combined the best aspects of old school vs new school. My favorite car till I die.

It's not, though. An automatic only gearbox (and a DCT at that), electronic double axle steering, a lot of assisting systems... Even the R34 was a crazy advanced car in terms of electronic systems for its day, and the R35 is a whole next level, so it's definitely not an "analog" car by any stretch. Doug DeMuro calls Carrera GT the last analog supercar in the sense it didn't have any driving assists and I agree. UPD: And yes for all the absolute idiots out there, my argument is that Mat is wrong calling it analog. I KNOW IT'S A F*CKING JOKE IN THE COMMENT ABOVE get off my back.

From an objective point of view, the NSX looks much more modern, exterior and interior. Definitely underappreciated. Both look absolutely gorgeous and the GTR is still the legendary beast.

but its 10+ years old at this point, Nissan needs to release a new model. Competition has moved up years away, the only thing that has moved up in gtr is its price. Youre basically paying double the price now for the same styling this car had in 2007. Its still a very good car non the less, but so many better cars are on the market for the price rn. Just to name a few..Porsche 911, Audi R8, Jaguar F type, Ferrari Portofino etc. They might not match the performance in some variants but the techonology and the looks are way more modern. If Nissan released a brand new GTR model with 600+ hp as standard that would be a hotcake seller. 2:18 even at just the basic face comparisment GTR looks so old compared to Acura

The GT-R is like Godzilla isn't it??? not just in performance and it's characteristics but also just like how Godzilla comes out of it's slumber once in a decade terrorises everything, eats everything in it's path and then goes back. Nissan brings out a new GT-R once in decade which then mauls and embarrasses every supercar in the market then just goes back to sleep.... Can't wait to see what the R36 will do....

But that's the thing, compared to all the cars that were out when these launched back in '07, it was rapid. It took a few years for supercars to catch it up & even then they couldn't get near for the RRP. I'd hope a car that came out 13 years later would be quicker than it... The R36 will be epic, providing the bean counters at Nissan allow it to be made...

But the problem is we dont live in the past anymore mate. Im not saying GTR is not good but it doesnt test the stand of time. I really expect Nissan to release GTR every year like Porsche, Audi, BMW, Mercs to see how it compared to current cars because fanboy will either say GTR is the fastest or GTR is a decade old as an excuse.

@@hondamanvtec2894 Yes the GT-R was very computer-ish, I'm not talking about the Polyphony screen but the torque vectoring system etc...it also lacked a lot of steering feel compared to supercars in 2007. when it came out. Main thing about the car was 0-60 time and easy lap times.

Because the dash system was designed by practically the same people. On the infotainment screen alone you were able to track your lap times and g force around turns and all sorts of things that weren’t common at the time on a infotainment center. It was ahead of its time at the time it came out, it’s just been so long now and they haven’t upgraded it at all.

Yes you could have lots of other cars but to me why would you. Dont really see how a Hybrid Super car with some of the best technology is overpriced when hyper cars 5 - 8 times price arent really much better, your certainly not going to get more out of them on every day roads also Honda are well known for reliability. would sooner stand out with something more exclusive than ya everyday seen Porsche. Seen one NSX so far and guy has one on a forum for video games, he loves his. How many of the other Super cars have had issues of setting on fire, dont see many honda do that. Quality cars

I live in America and actually own a GTR, 2010 GTR and picked it up used for $56,500 with 30K miles and I absolutely love it. Can honestly say the maintenance on it is very affordable besides brake jobs lol. That job would be way cheaper if you go steel brakes but I still use the carbon ceramics. And most of the engine based parts are shared with the Altima. Car insurance is also awesome because since it's a nissan it's not classified as an Exotic or supercar in the insurance companies database.

Brake size does not determine distance, it all comes down to how they are tuned, a 100mm disk, could probably stop a car just as fast as a 400mm one... The size just adds thermal mass, so you have less brake fade while racing. That's it.

This takes me back over 30 year when I had this debate with a friend over the original NSX and the R-32 GT-R. “Which would be the best WINTER supercar?” The Nissan has AWD but the Acura had an aluminium body so it wouldn’t rust, plus decent snow grip with its rear-heavy RWD. I shall await your winter side-by-side comparo for the final answer. Thanks!

I wonder if the Honda NSX warning light at 13:25 is maybe due to the type of fuel used i.e. 95RON instead of 98RON and above therefore meaning the car CPU backed the acceleration off.

This "new" NSX is just an Audi R8 with a Honda badge. Was quite surprised when he referred to the NSX as digital and the GTR as analogue as well. Notwithstanding referring to the GTR as analogue of course , it really should be the other way around, as the much beloved original 90's NSX was known for being forgiving and yet very analogue car to drive. When Mat said you needed big balls to handle the GTR, that pretty much vindicated my belief. The NSX, like the Audis are hairdresser cars. The GTR on the other hand, is its own proper car, with its own distinct Japanese styling that sets it apart from every other car in the world, because no other car series does impression of an angry, charging samurai.

@@ii_dynasty I absolutely understand the NSWX, never said it wasn't a bad super car. Just saying its a very far departure from what the original NSX represented. The OG NSX just like the early GTRs were distinct. The current NSX is just a copy and paste job from mainly the Audi. Unfortunately this "copy and pasting" is highly representative of most super cars today, which ironically makes the GTR stand out even more.

@@Deuuuce bro it’s 0 to 60 is always underrated. it does it normally in 3.1 but most reviewers have gotten 2.7/2.9. it’s SH-AWD system is top 10 and it’s speaker system is definitely the best out there still and it’s daily drivable due to its very comfortable suspension. well comfortable for a super car. and it looks so good (subjective but still)

It's nice to know that Honda can still make an engine rev nicely even if it's turbocharged and doesn't have VTEC on the intake. Although 7,500 rpm is a little low in a Honda for my taste...

compared to other supercars/exotics its among the slowest. Not enough power for its weight, Its quick but not fast, especially the 60-130 time of around 8.5s which is well behind other cars in its class. That and the cheap interior. All that for its asking price is way too much. But a used one is a great deal just off its looks and rarity alone lol, I'm actually considering a 2017.

The current GTR is a beast and I would love to get one but I think the time has come and Nissan needs to make a new GT-R and put a modern gearbox in it. Only 6 gears in a supercar level sport car is not enough.

The nsx is better than a C8... Even C8 owners who drove an nsx afterwards said its a better handling and performing car. Only advantage C8 has is the price, but you get cheaper materials and a worse handling car.

He ran over a 12 second quarter mile time...He is either the biggest tool to ever test drive a car or he did it on purpose. There are more than a few things wrong with his knowledge and results in this video. I have no problem with what anyone likes or prefers but I was face palming this video. I like both cars but I actually own the NSX and disagree with some of his results. To each their own I guess.

That’s exactly my point. It’s the American idea of a muscle car but done right. The engine isn’t overly massive, the components aren’t 50 years old, every part is made to work properly with each other, and it doesn’t rattle itself loose after a few months. Just old school mechanical charm and driving enjoyment. I’ll take a non-Nismo, thanks.

If you look closely, on his second run it cuts to the dash and there is a fuel warning. Weird because the fuel gauge to the right implies there should be 3/4 tank. Maybe bad gas/insufficient octane and that hiccup is maybe knock protection?
